Really, the only book that I know that is more popular than LOTR is The BIBLE. Earthsea was on fuckin Scifi. Why would you even think it would be good? |

You cretin. When a big-budget movie gets made out of a book, people ALWAYS start buying the books. However, Lord of the Rings was already incredibly well known BEFORE there was even talk of a movie being made. |

oh yeah? how come that when the first movie started the readers that started to read the books because they wanted to know how it tuned out just to see that the books is all unlike the movies. and by now those readers call themselves tolkien veterans because they could read the books. Heck i can get through silmarillion in a couple of hours. |

HEY! the books about earthsea are really great and are better then the lord of the rings. and they didnt need a movie to get the people interested about the books |
