Sacks Oh wow, thanks guys. I gave up on checking to see if anyone would respond long ago. I ended up getting a new motherboard and all is well.

Hyper Tonik This is a common problem with people who have an Audiology Soundblaster 2 Platinum if you don't keep the sound card updated the computer doesn't like it.

AChimp It sounds like it's either the video card or the motherboard. It could also be the monitor, but monitors tend to have picture problems before they start dying.

Totally weird computer problem. Help.

Ok, my computer keeps just.. stopping. It's not really 'freezing'. It goes black, but the computer is still running, so I don't think that qualifies as crashing. At first, I figured out that it happened when I started playing music. Then I realized it only happened when the speakers were plugged in. This was totally weird to me and to everyone I asked about it, but now it seems this problem has lost all interest in fairness and has become a loose cannon. Now it happens whenever the hell it wants. No one I know has heard of anything like this so I figured I'd give this place a shot. Someone... help.
