FurankuS I'm not angry about the zombies using tools. I'm angry that the rebellion guy was Irish. Are Ireland and IRELAND: PART DEUX (read: scotland) the only places that produce rebellious dudes with cool shirts?

Zomboid I haven't seen it in a while, but I have it on dvd and vhs so I'll check soon if no one knows, but doesn't the daughter in the original night of the living dead use a spade to kill her mom? And a zombie uses a brick to break a window in the remake. AAAAANNNNNDDD, there's that whole explanation for them going to the mall in the original dawn of the dead. It being an important place in their lives and them basically following instinct. And yeah, there's bub.

So it's not all that far fetched that they'd learn to communicate on a basic level and use tools or anything. Stop bitching.

DamnthatDavid Romero wrote the bible on traditional zombies, so whatever he adds is cannon. :/
Jul 4th, 2005 04:17 PM
Spectre X I don't get why everybody's so upset about the zombies having rudimentary congitive abilities. Romero did it with Bub twenty years ago, for Christ's sake. Why shouldn't there be more zombies that could use tools? And if they use tools, why not communicate on a simple level? It's not a very big step.

FurankuS Wait...so the gas station zombie wanted to kill Dennis Hopper? Was that his plan? More importantly, WAS BUB IN THIS. I think I saw him, but I can't be sure.

Ninjavenom Zombies =/= making sense. What a dumb thing to say. No zombie movie has ever made sense, what the hell do you expect out of this one?

It was fun and enjoyable, except for the end when he says "they're just looking for a place to go". That was fucking gay as shit. Also, the chick driving the tank should have had way, way more screen time. i could barely ogle her!
Jun 30th, 2005 03:30 PM
Dina S Burroughs I thought the zombies were able to think a little *too* much. I mean, they're zombies for christ sake, they're not supposed to think!

And was anyone else taken aback by the actual use of the word 'zombie' in this movie? What's up with that?
Jun 30th, 2005 01:46 PM
adept_ninja what didnt make sense to you? The only question I was wondering about is why did he want money so bad because i would figure that money would be useless except in the fiddlers green
Jun 30th, 2005 03:06 AM
bigtimecow i expect it to have either no plot and just lots of zombies or a plot that actually MAKES SENSE.
Jun 29th, 2005 08:29 PM
adept_ninja I thought the movie was great except for like IS said with the zombie commander that was gay as shit. I dont know why you people are bitching about story line and plot...its a god damn zombie movie do you expect the plot to be like lost in translation or somthing you just expected to much out of it, it was a great movie.

N00bKill3R It seemed like Romero was more concered with the underlying theme of the movie than the actually plot... for example the "we don't negoiate with terrorists" line, among other things, seemed kind of forced.

bigtimecow land of the dead SUCKED. worst storyline, period.

for blood and gore it was great, but for storyline it was pure trash.

shaun of the dead and the remake of dawn of the dead will always own.

romero's main message in the film "have sympathy for the zombies, they're just trying to live...even if they are trying to kill you."

In Day of the Dead, the setting was a military base that had lost contact with headquarters (presumably because there WAS no more headquarters), and all they could do was try to survive, while still carrying on with their last orders in hopes that it lead to an answer and an escape.

That installation DID have the problem mostly controlled, by being sealed in underground and keeping the zombies at bay in the tunnel with a gate. But they were going to run out of supplies, and the tensions between the two groups (soldiers and civilians) were coming to a head, causing destruction from within.

There was. But presumably, it just didn't work. Too many zombies too kill, too much panic, communication is limited so widespread planning isn't possible, differing opinions on what to do, etc.

Watch the first movie, it's legally free on the Internet now;

AChimp I saw it last night. It sucked, especially the ending. The theatre was pretty packed, and everyone started laughing when one guy said, "Let's go to Canada! There's no people there!" Then they all took their zombie-squashing gun truck and went north, leaving all those people on foot to fend for themselves.

ItalianStereotype they were the chained up zombies. don't worry, not a spoiler.

N00bKill3R I agree with Rog on this one, it was a pretty good flick but with a title like "Land of the Dead" you would expect a lot more zombie battling going on... they used the same group of "featured" zombies throughout the entire movie. It did have some pretty decent gore but that doesn't really say much. Basically I though it was good but there could have been more...

Where were the cameos? Tom Savini's was pretty obvious but I didn't catch Simon and Edgar from SotD.
