The new James Bond. http://www.thisislondon.com/showbiz/...ly%20Mail&ct=5 Don't know how many of you guys already know this or care, but the new James Bond has been chosen. Jude Law, Clive Owen, Ewan McGregor, Colin Farrell and Orlando Bloom were all said to be in the running, and i think it would have sucked if any of them got picked. so the person that was choosen was Daniel Craig. Most people are pissed, but I actully think this is really good news. Craig rocked in Layer Cake, and was good in road to perdiction. the fact that the movie will be Casino Royal, a actully Fleming novel, is sweet. From what I'v heard they are trying to get Bond back to the way he was written rather then trying to continue the movies. While the movies have become more and more about stupid gadgets and cars and that type of stuff, the bond in the fleming books was extermly violent and cold. I'm guessing that the recent Jason Bourne movies might be way they are going back, or maybe its the fact that the last few have been pretty dumb. for whatever reason I think its sweet. John Cleese will be Q, rather then being R or whatever he was the last few movies, and that one old lady will be M again, which is kinda dumb. I think they should get a guy, but thats me. they might change that, i dont know how final all that info is. The director is going to be Martin Campbell, who did Golden eye, the only bond movie I've really liked since roger moore was bond. http://imdb.com/title/tt0381061/ So yeah, there you are. There are petitions on Imdb and other sites that dont want Craig. It seems like people either really hate the idea, or really like, mostly becuase those in the middle don't speak up, but it seems that most people are on the anti-Craig side. I think this is a great chance to give Bond a faceleft. I hope they will keep some of the things from the other movies, like the opening, the "bond, James Bond" stuff and all the other things that make the other movies classic. I hope they drop all the cities made of ice, remote controled cars, and other crap they put in the recent movies that are more about looking cool then actully being useful. I used to be a big bond fan back in the day, but the last few movies have been really bad, so I really hope this one will be good. Im excited. |
