"the sound of silence" stands out a bit too much, according to kevin, who didn't fall asleep, at least! i loved it on rewatching. i hadn't recalled mr. roper as braddock's berkeley landlord (typecasting?!). and the two aunts from "bewitched" were in the private party at the hotel! also, it struck me that braddock seemed almost christlike through the high glass in the chapel. excellent scene, agreed. |

Zebra 3 | The Simon and Garfunkel music really stands out and the church scene is a classic - one of my favourite 60s movies! | ||

It's just one of those movies who have permeated pop culture to such a degree that it's been referenced and parodied in every direction. So when you finally see it, all the references fall into place. Same goes for Citizen Kane, Wizard of Oz, The Godfather and to a surprising degree Deliverance. Which is also awesome, by the way, in case you haven't seen it. Voigt is good in it, and it's one of the very few movies where Burt Reynolds doesn't play Burt Reynolds. |

i saw that movie over the summer and was constantly listening to "everybody's talkin" for weeks afterwards. man that was a great fucking movie too. it's funny to see Hoffman go from playing an attractive young college student to the hideous and pathetic Enrico Rizzo. |

dale go away seriously the ending is just so damn perfect. it's like the characters are just realising what they've done and are like "oh shit we fucked up". and after i saw it i realised that the simpsons parodied the ending on the episode were grandpa falls in love with marge's mom AND family guy parodied it on When You Wish Upon a Weinstein ![]() |

The same can be said for John Travolta in his Welcome Back Kotter Role. Now his movies blow chunks. But back on the topic at hand here. I havent seen the graduate, Its not in stock at any of the Video stores in my area and its never on the HBO-type movie channels. I Feel deprived of a great movie. |

It really is awesome, I've been wanting to watch it again for a while. It's funny how you grow up with actors like Hoffman, DeNiro, Voigt, Newman and Pacino already being established and respected, and you watch the movies they star in and think "yeah, I guess these guys are good." And then later you go back and check out the stuff that gave them their status and you're completely blown away. Like Hoffman/Voigt in Midnight Cowboy. Holy shit. |
