To fix it I basically had to uninstall the drivers, run driver cleaner then reinstall the drivers. Some reg keys of my audigy 2 where still in there causing the problem. But now I've done that, none of the somewhat useful bloatware included with the card works. I'll have to do a complete reinstall just as soon as I can be bothered. ![]() |

I finally got my X-Fi up and running and it seems to be a pretty solid card (more than can be said for alot of other Creative products). The crystaliser makes MP3s sound distinctly clearer and the remote and media center style program looks good. The only problem I have encountered thus far is with BF2. Which crashes to desktop as soon as I select X-Fi quality ![]() This is most likly down to BF2's dubious stability rather than the card though. |

EisigerBiskuit | I've been looking for a nice computer to replace my Deli, but I havn't a shit clue of what anything means anymore (besides RAM and Cards and such). Would it be cheaper to build a new tower out of my current PC, or is that like impossible, if I want the PCIe junk? |

I went with an ATI card for all of my computers since ye olde Graphics Pro Turbo days. But, for my latest machine I got a 6800 and I must say that I am impressed. No driver fuck ups like with ATI. ![]() |

MetalMilitia | I wanted a 7800GTX 512mb but to be honest it would be a stupid thing to buy right now. The 1900XT outperforms it in th majority of benchmarks and costs around £150 less. |

I'm going to buy a new computer Yes. My initial specs are as follows - DFI NF4 Moterhboard, most probably the DR model - Athlon X2 3800 - Radeon 1900XT - Audigy X-Fi Fatality FPS (already sitting on my desk) - WD 150GB Raptor HDD (already have a 300GB Maxtor for storage) - 19in Samsung TFT monitor w/ 4ms response time - mabey another gig of BallistiX memory It's going to be able to scare small children with its monsterous frame rates. Any suggestions for other things I might want? |
