Les Waste He's at a halfway house right now, and he'll be there for another few months probably.

He was supposed to get out a while ago too. Like late last year.

ODB's out of jail, on comeback trail

Friends say they're relieved that rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard is getting a psychiatric evaluation.

Fans of the Wu-Tang Clan will be happy to know that rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard has been released from an upstate New York prison and is resting at the Manhattan Psychiatric Center on Randall's Island.

Friends of the rapper, who is serving a two- to four-year sentence on drug charges, have been alarmed by his strange and erratic behavior and think that the mental evaluation is a good idea. "He was showing signs of schizophrenia," a source tells us. "He would look up at the sky and say, 'Yes, I will do what you say.' He also said the voices had told him to rename himself 'Big Baby Jesus.' He was acting like Sybil, and we were getting concerned. All I can say is, poor Dirty, he didn't need to be in jail. He needed help."

However, his cousin Mitchell (Divine) Biggs insists ODB's not really psychotic. "He finished his jail time and he's getting an evaluation and will be released soon. I've known him all my life, and he's always acted this way just to mess with people. So all of the behavior other people may think is strange is normal for him. He's just having fun. As soon as he gets home, he's going to work on his new album and go on tour."

While ODB is resting, fellow Wu-Tang members Oliver (Power) Grant and Raekwon (The Chef) are developing a movie about New York's construction business. "The Coalition," written by Joe Ariola, is said to be a modern "On the Waterfront" that looks at the abuse of nonunion minority workers. Filming is due to start in June.
