Terra So we all need to actually each other's voices rather than describe them.

Fire up the phone call list.

Dr. Boogie Indeed. We are not amused.

ziggytrix But she has a British accent!

No one speaks purely phonetically. Even the most monotone speakers stress different syllables and emulate the speech patterns of their environment.

A "nonregional" american accent is still an American accent.

This is the dumbest semantics argument I've seen in ages.

sspadowsky Dr. Boogie sounds like Ben Stein, only more sedated. And less Jewish.

davinxtk my accent is pretty damn nonregional but my word usage and exclaimations are clearly northeastern. i tend to speak in a condescending tone rather inadvertantly.

i pick on people's accents all the time. i can usually point out an accent someone has, even if it's just from having lived somewhere.

midwest accents are really easy to pick out, so i have no idea what the hell seth is talking about. especially ohio, karen

i do use y'all somewhat frequently and if i get too excited or angry i get careless and usually end up sounding southern. god only knows why, i've never been down south.

my mom grew up in NYC and i grew up here in MA so i think the combination really cancelled itself out.

Girl Drink Drunk My accent is "plain", but for whatever reason, I uncontrolably talk with an Irish or british accent. Donno why. Just gets stuck in my head.lol
Mar 7th, 2006 11:43 AM
the_dudefather i have a northern irish accent, which is much like you see on tv even stuff like saying 'and that there' or 'like' every other sentence.

its not so much the friendly 'top o' the mornin' accent, but more 'we are going to GAIN oor INDEPENDANCE by ANY MEANS nessiCARY', like

Everyone has an acccent to varying degrees, it's like saying you have a face with no features!

I can't think of anything anyone would have heard of that talks like me. I pick up accents in every places I've lived (except Wales thank god) and have a mixture of the lot.
