We don't have places like that out here in timbuttfuckingtoo. We just pour pepper all over everything and we have mock curry. Have you ever had any curry mac and cheese? Man that stuff is hot. You'll shit for days and grow hair on your chest as a by product. |

I'm the master of making Japanese Curry Rice. Method 1): Give the guy at yoshinoya 300 Yen. Method 2): Rice + Curry + Meat + Vegatables. Serve hot. |

Here's the lentil recipe. If you put alot of vegetables in it it drowns out the spices(you could try adding more but beware of imbalancing the flavor), but it's still pretty good. Next time i do it i might try using 1.5 cups tomato with 1.5 cups other veggies(the recipe calls for cauliflower, but last night i only had squash, mushrooms, a potato and a carrot and it turned out okayish). Use the freshest ingredients possible(fresh ginger and garlic). 1 Table spoon Olive oil 1 cup onion 1 table spoon fresh ginger, peeled, minced 1 teaspoon cumin 1 teaspoon turmeric 1/2 teaspoon red peppers 4 cloves garlic 2 cups cauliflower(can be substituted with other flavor absorbing vegetables) 2 cups tomato 2.5 cups water 1 cup dried lentils 2 tablespoon lime 1 tablespoon cilantro, minced Salt to taste 1. Heat Olive oil, add onion and first five ingredients(spices) and saute. 2. Add tomato and cauliflower, saute 1 minute. 3. Add water and lentils, bring to boil, cover and simmer. 4. wait for lentils to be done(no crunchy/hardness). 5. Add lime, cilantro and salt. Serve on rice. If anybody tries it let me know what you think, like I said I reccomend reducing the tomatos and cauliflower by half a cup or so. It's pretty much a "basic" indian recipe. Feel free to try different things when you got the skills/flavors down. I'd also reccomend adding the salt to taste rather than by recipe, because i can't remember if that's the right amount since i usually do it by taste. After i cook some curries and get the best ones ill let you guys know. I have a few that seem like they'd be really tastey but i don't want to give out shitty recipes. |

I had really good thai food last night. "I really like hot Indian curry, Vindaloo, but I've realized it keeps me awake at night whenever I have it" Eat it in the afternoon and it won't bother you at night. You're not supposed to have spicy foods before bed, nor are you supposed to have light foods. Theoretically you should be having something watery, like a soup or stew, to calm your nerves before bed. Spicy food makes your digestion go crazy, and light foods make you energetic and hyper if you eat them before bed. They kind of make your nerves go crazy. Depending on what type of curry you are trying to make they are usually pretty easy. Thai curry is basically coconut milk and a few spices, while indian curry is generally very vague since curry pretty much means any sauce you put on top of rice. I havent done much experimenting with making thai curry, but I might try next week so I'll let you guys know how to cook it. One of my favorite indian recipes to make is a lentil stew made out of cauliflower and tomatoes. I'll post a recipe for it later, since i have to goto school soon but it is VERY good. The lime and cilantro at the end are VERY important for flavor, as is the tomato and spices. It's very good for you, beans are VERY good for weightloss. |

glowbelly | dole took me to some all vegetarian curry buffet thing in islington (i think?) one night and it was yum yum yum. i tend to like a more sweet curry than spicy. my friend, michael, makes this veggie curry with coconut milk that is divine. |
