uhh i watched it, and it sucked. the gore? what gore? some guy was burning or somthing, i remember. there was an uncomfortable rape scene, and then all of the mutants get killed by 1 guy. i was jumping out of my seat, only because it was so boring & finally somthing popped up like a zombie out of resident evil "mrrr!" & i was like omg a zombie so i jumped up in anticipation but it was just a radiated freak so i sat back down and then the movie was over spoilers: every1 who dies dies in like the first scene, and then anyone who survives that kills all the mutants. kind of gay. i was kind of making up my own story in the theatres, wondering when the fat moma mutant would squat ontop of the nerd guy and rape him. i mean why not |

Terra | Say that's a nice rant. But it's the wrong forum. Should'nt it be in the philosophy forum now?

Why the fuck do people go see HORROR movies then walk out when they are too gory , what the fuck were they expecting ? unicorns and rainbows happily killing people to death with joy ? do people even know what they are going to see ,before they see it ? these people are the reason those shitty Scream movies got so popular and started that whole trend of eunich horror movies in the 90s im sorry wait theyre called ,thrillers now . its sad , horror movies sucked a hell of alot after the 80s , all because all of those up tight bitches and fat women complained about them and everything else ( including toys made of metal and those with sharp edges) people dont want to raise there own kids apparently they want everything else to , so they can go snort coke instead of paying attention to their kid and letting them know the difference between right and wrong they would rather just abolish any sense of trouble instead of educating their kids about it now here we are in 2006 and horror movies are trying to make a bit of a comeback , and people are bitching about how gory they are and whatnot , and how they should be censored , or are too violent , which i find laughable since we are a county who RIGHT NOW IS AT FUCKING WAR WITH PEOPLE WHO BLOW THEMSELVES UP ON A REGULAR BASIS if you dont like something dont do it , noone is forcing you too why should someone else have to change because your a little bitch ? if something disturbs you just avoid it , it shouldnt have to be abolished . if thats the way the world works then nothing should exist , i dont see why the world puts such restriction on fiction yet lets reality be more twisted and cruel then almost anything the imagination can even create or handle . but thats just my opinion , and im in a bitchy mood |

re: i dunno about the director's cut, but gore fanatics will probably want to stick with actual gore films, or at the very least movies that aren't rated R. |

Just got back from watching this at the cinema with my girlfriend. It was pretty heinously violent. I dread to think that the uncut version is like. You know you are in for some pretty sick shit when the opening credits is videos of nukes going off interspuced with dead babies. Definatly a must see for any gore fanatics but if you are easily shocked, avoid it. |

Terra | Well the gore doesn't bother me. I draw the line when it comes to a mutant sucking the milk from my tits.

I'm sure my opinion doesn't matter much, but I think a different point of view is in order. I thought the movie was great. I was totally unprepared for the amount of brutality involved. I mean, think about how much it would suck to walk back in from seeing your dad burnt alive in the middle of nowhere only to catch your sister being raped by mutants who also are holding your baby hostage, then being forced to let one of those mutants suck milk from your tits, and then be shot in the head, only to come "back to life" for split second before hunkering down to a really humiliating death. Insane. Plus the manequins in the ghost town were way freaky. I think compared to all the other horror movies that have been made recently, this one is by far the best. And I think they could have went totally over the top with the mutant people, but kept it pretty realistic with maybe one expection. So come on, it wasn't *that* bad.... |

there's a deep sense of dissastisfaction that sets in when you realize the most throwaway pantywaist character is the one thats supposed to save the day. this movie would have been an infinity times better if it had been the mom of the baby that went all apeshit on everyone, as would have been her RIGHT. ![]() when moms see their baby with a gun to its face, they dont LOOK for something to hit them with, they lunge at the jugular with their hands and bite their hands off at the wrist. AND THEY CERTAINLY ARENT WRIST GRABBED INTO SUBMISSION AFTER ONE HIT TO THE FACE. and, oh yeah, guess who gets uncredited in the special effects department? who can say rubber johnny faster than CHRIS CUNNINGHAM? fuck this movie. it sucked. |

I didn't get to see it yet but my roomate did. She said that 20 people walked out of the show. She said it was good but it was upsetting. I can get "upsetting" just by posting around here. I didn't see it. |

the_dudefather | havent seen the original or remake, but im going to assume the original is better, as that is alwasys the safer opion to take in these situations
Mar 12th, 2006 09:03 PM | ||
xbxDaniel | Maybe that's Hollywood's plan. Make so horrible of remakes that people complain about them, then they gloat about how great the originals are, and people pay twenty bucks for the out-of-print DVD.
Mar 12th, 2006 09:01 PM | ||
the_dudefather | might as well take this chance to watch the original (well the chance to watch it has existed for 29 years now, but i havent bothered until now)

I saw this with Sam There is one part inside the camper where the soundtrack is basically a low booming bass and screaming. and seriously you can hear a high pictched squeel for whatever reason. It gave sam a headache and made me almost walk out. The movie was just placed horribly POSSIBLE SPOILERS Quote:
