Skulhedface I kinda had a sneaking suspicion that ED2 was meant to be a remake of ED, not as a whole but in spirit. But then, it's good that the one character they decided to keep was Ash. I don't think the sequels would have worked nearly as well with one of those other dipshit kids.

Zomboid It's a tie for me between evil dead 2 and aod. I like the evil dead, but it's not very funny

Protoclown I like them all, but Evil Dead 2 is my favorite.

Jixby Phillips They are all great equally. Evil Dead is still creative and creepy as hell, even if it's not the chucklefest that Evil Dead 2 & Army of Darkness is. It still has a dark sense of humor, it's just Evil Dead 2 makes it more blatent. I think Evil Dead 2 probably came about because they wanted to remake Evil Dead 1 except make it sillier. I used to think Evil Dead 1 was boring, but after I fell in love with the book of the dead packaging I rewatched it and completely loved it.

Zomboid Scream fans aren't horror fans, as far as I'm concerned. Those movies were pure teen shit minus the gore and sex that made the 80's classics kick ass.

Skulhedface Which is why I said "as horrible as everyone SEEMS to say it is"

I know how cheesy and funny it was, which WAS half the reason I liked it. And a few others, I'm sure.

Not the "Scream" fans though. I know THEY hated it.

Zomboid Wtf are you talking about "skull"? A lot of people here liked jason x for the fact that it's cheesy and funny.

Skulhedface true enough, but I heard Raimi decided to do it on purpose.

And it actually came out better for it. It didn't take itself too seriously, and that's half of it's entertainment value right there.

It's one thing to make fun of a movie because it's unintenionally horrible, it's another when it turns out a timeless classic, more or less, because of it.

Besides, any cheesy movie of that era is INSTANTLY more enjoyable than the sickening teenage tripe they're marketing as "horror" nowadays.

The only recent "scary" movies I DID like were "The New Nightmare" and Jason X. As horrible as everyone seems to say Jason X was, I still liked it.

ItalianStereotype evil dead was no more cheesy than any other "serious" horror movie of the time.

Skulhedface I don't have the DVDs, so I don't know if this is true (such as if it were on the commentary or something)...

...but I hear Evil Dead was supposed to be a serious scary movie, but it came off so cheesy that they made ED2 and Army Of Darkness funny on purpose.

Personally, if it's true, I think it was a good idea. It made Ash that much cooler in the long run

I know I'm behind the times.

Two was definitely the best.
