Yeah, there are alot of little things like that that are a good idea, but difficult when you're at subsistance level income. Glow's avatar of Jacob is such a cute baby that I get sad that I do not have kids of my own. ![]() |

Staxeon | That's crappy. And possibly ugly at tax time. You'd almost want a separate account for business related stuff, so it doesn't screw with your personal stuff, period.

Because when you check into a hotel they have to physically have a credit card for accountability. It has to have your name on it. Most companies don't just give employees credit cards. They reimburse them for the charges. When I travel on company time, I have to use my credit card and I am reimbursed for it when the task is done. This way the employees don't go on a rampage with the company card. |

Staxeon | I have one silly question to ask. Regardless of the fact they charged you twice, if the hotel was supposed to charge your husband's employer for the stay...how the hell did they get your personal debit card/checking account info in the first place?

my credit is actually pretty good. that's why this sucks so bad. luckily i was smart when i got my last credit card and pay a little extra to not have them report late payments to the credit bureaus. we weren't able to pay on that one on time this month cause of this shit, so at least that won't be reported. we're back in the black, finally. all of our money isn't restored, but the hotel is sending us a check on monday to cover their portion of the overdraft fees. i politely asked if they thought about sending any other compensation our way considering they fucked us royally this week and they politely replied no. so i called a lawyer. |

Chojin | My week was both bad and good, I was just in a bad mood for all of it ;< I have this toxic coworker who cannot shut up for the LIFE of him and the super at the jobsite is a five year old, emotionally. The only things that make me keep my sanity are my $100/day and the fact that my dad is that super's boss ;>

That's a pretty shitty week. The combination of people and money is bound to create hardship. I hope that things turn out well for you in the longrun. |

oh yeah, shit is bouncin everywhere. boing boing boing $515 in overdraft fees. the hotel is paying those. i don't want a free stay in their hotel. i want them to reimburse me for all the stuff i had to put on my credit card as a result of not having any money in my bank account. those purchases collect interest. i also want them to pay the late charges i'm going to get on bills that were due this week that i couldn't pay. ![]() i hate when this shit happens because when it first occurs, the bank thinks you're a deadbeat who doesn't know how to manage your money. my husband was furious with a couple of people because they didn't believe him at first. he actually said to his boss "I DON'T KNOW HOW THE FUCK YOU LIVE, BUT WE DON'T DO THIS SHIT!!" ![]() ![]() |

Staxeon | I was gonna say exactly what Sadie posted, how much other stuff went rubber due to the account being suddenly minus? If the hotel was really good they would refund you within a few business days, and comp your husband and you a night at any of their hotels for the trouble.

sadie | the hardest part is dealing with all the other companies to whom you've written checks not knowing your account was in the red. sigh. in the end you feel like you should be paid something extra for all the freakin' hassle. :beenthere

![]() when my particulart place of work makes an error like charging twice (as it sometimes happens when people forget to log such payments) correcting this error takes about 2 MINUTES. ![]() push the "credit" button, put their number in, put the amount of money, press enter, the end. idiots. |

Contracts like that are perfectly legal, in the same way that you're obligated to stay in the army for X number of years if you accept a military scholarship. A lot of companies have clauses like that in their contracts if they provide specialized training. They want to get something out of you after they make an investment, afterall. |

As a thought experiemnt I'd ben wondering if finding out someone else had as bad a week as I did might make me feel better. It turns out not to. Sorry, Glo. On the plus side, while it would be bad for his resume and recomendations I'm pretty sure a contract like that is urely for the sake of intimidation and is in no way legal. |

mothertruckin goshdurnit have you ever just had a really bad week that you wish would end? this week is like that for me. it started out nice with cub's birthday, then we woke up on tuesday morning to find out that the hotel that my husband stayed in for 2 weeks of training in minneapolis charged OUR bank account for his hotel stay instead of the company he works for. fine. ok, but see they charged us TWICE. so as of today i have an account balance of MINUS $2400. the hotel is making good on all of this, but ya know. it takes them an hour to take all your money away and a week to get it all back to you. THEN my husband informed me that in the fine print of his contract that he didn't read before he signed, it states that he now has to work for this company for a year because they trained him. so i'm stuck in this fucking city for another year. i'm not happy ![]() ![]() |
