Protoclown If there's one thing I take seriously, it's my right to oppress others in the name of religion!

To think, or not to think, that is the question.

I am expecting a lot of negative responses to this post, but I have a right to say what I believe is right. This is about religion, the good, but mostly the bad. I know there are good points to religion, but if you have ever been to a church similar to the ones I went to, you know that during the mass, everyone sounds brainwashed. These people say things from memory and habit, not from deep down belief. These people believe in a God, not because they believe it for themselves, but because they fear the qonsequences of NOT believing. These people have been taught from birth that there is a god that loves them, which is good, but also a god that sends people to hell for NOT believing in him. This instills a deep fear in them that if they do not believe, that they are damned to an eternity to burning hellfire and pain.

I am not bashing religion, per say, I am bashing following religion without ever questioning it. A perfect example is Iraq. Those people are taught from birth the very same thing that I mentioned above, and they are therefor willing to blow themselves up to appease their god, but if only ONE person stood up to question their beliefs, then it would spread to others and we wouldn't, I repeat WOULD NOT, be over there fighting, for when religion is forced as someone's oppresive government, and that religion is questioned and disregarded, then the GOVERNMENT is disregarded. Please post your responses, I would love to hear what others think of my opinions.
