Supafly345 Yeah, the HBO version and the television version of Goonies didn't have the octopus scene. For some reason the only place I have ever seen it was on the original VHS.

happymedic Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the film. So if people dont like it, then its no biggy.
I must say though, the family guy skit is a nice touch, and i really like the article on 'The Goonies 'R' Good Enough'

Mockery Ignore Fartin, he's just pissed that his ride-on lawnmower broke down on his way to work this morning.

Anyway, the Goonies is great. Interesting thing though, if you get the DVD, you'll see that they have the deleted Octopus scene on it (which you might recall one of them mentioning at the end of the movie when they're rescued on the beach). So the other day the old "Popeye" movie came on and I swear they used some of the same props and sets for that movie that they used in the Goonies - the most recognizeable one being the Octopus that Popeye fights at the end. I swear it's the same one.

Oh and if ya dig the Cyndi Lauper song, here's my review of the music video with all the WWF wrestlers in it. The full video is at the end of the piece too and should not be missed.

The Goonies

One of the classic memories from my childhood was watching Goonies for the first time. But for years, I had almost forgotten about it until one day in the shops I saw it being sold on DVD for less than £5. Bargain, I thought, so i bought it straight away. Went home, booted it up, and it was like reliving the 80s.
The classic Cyndi Lauper soundtrack, the fashion sense, the Truffle Shuffle, One-Eyed Willie; this movie had everything, romance, action, drama, comedy.
Simply an amazing film that i'm glad to say hasn't tarnished through time.
