whoreable to fix the ie multiple downloads you have to change your registry.

go to teh start menu and click on run then type regedit

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings]

click on each of these folders

click on each of these and change the values like shown.

"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:00000019
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:00000019

if you cant figure that out aim me and i can send you teh key so you should just have to double click it.

as far as the other problem...maybe you should boot up in safe mode to see if you can clear your temp internet files.

another thing to try is to go to tools>Internet options>click on settings button>click view objects>delete all unknown objects

AChimp Tools->Internet Options->General

Click "Delete Files...", check off the "Offline Content" box and click OK.

Then, click "Settings" and decrease the amount of space that you disk cache uses. It defaults to a certain percentage of your overall hard drive size, so if you have a huge HD, your cache can end up being over 2GB.

The untitled.bmp problem is with file associations, I think. I had that problem long ago, but it went away when I reinstalled Windows XP. :/

ziggytrix Are you using AOL or the like to connect to the internet?

James I don't see any such options listed there, and I've looked quite a few times. Could you be a little more specific as to where I would find what I'm looking for?
Apr 23rd, 2003 02:48 AM
Jebus on internet explorer you just go to tools at the top, then down to internet options.

James Regarding the "untitled.bmp" issue. I think the problem was I had too many Temporary Files, and it ends up taking 10 minutes or so to load them. So it's not able to access the filename because it takes too long, so it goes to a "default" filename.

Which brings me to a new question: Is there a way to regulate your temporary internet files? Like, is there a way to have them be automatically deleted if not used in 2 or 3 days? I tried to look for some sort of option, but didn't see it.

And someone tell me how to open Explorer preferences.

It was a joke.

Skulhedface James: the "untitled.bmp" problem is one I'm having too, and I still haven't figured that out yet, so I can't help you there.

Regarding the two-DL limit... maybe the site (I'm speculating, you didn't specify exactly) you're DLing from only allows 2 at once.

James Some times, I'm very inept when it comes to technology. And other times, the simplest of things are beyond my knowledge and skill.

How would I open Explorer? And if you're talking about IE, where is Preferences?

Atma for the latter problem, go to explorer prefs, then to download options, and change the number of maximum concurrent downloads

Computer Help Needed

OK, my computer's been acting up severely lately.

First off, when I try to save an image, it automatically tries to save in the "My Pictures" folder with the filename, "untitled.bmp." Now, I somehow managed to fix the filename problem (I don't know how, so please tell me), but I can't get it to stop automatically going to that folder.

Moving on, when I try to download files (movie files, for example), I can only download two files at a time. Is there any way to change this?

I've also had some problems with Norton AntiVirus and my computer crashing, but I don't have anything specific to say about them in order to get an answer.
