Dr. V I sense a soul in search of answers.

Perndog You move plenty fast in Diablo except when you've already killed everything and forgot to bring a town portal and have to walk way the fuck back up. And when you have to visit Adria.

Dr. V As long as Tyreal uses his sword for any reason, I'll watch it. Even to open cat food, I don't care.

ArrowX I would agree with it being Diablo one, 2 would be far too long and large without being particularly epic. But to watch Mephisto throw down on the big screen would be pretty cool.

Angryhydralisk Right down to the three classes and the inability to run or even move fast?

Perndog Also, I think the movie should be an adaptation of the first game.

Perndog Super badass fallen angel(s) Tyrael et al plus the remaining lesser evils for the win!! With the worldstone broken, all hell and heaven get to run rampant over Earth (right?), so they have automatic potential to make things more intense from the beginning. I have high hopes. And one of them is that Diablo 3 will be announced at Blizzcon next month and released less than a year later because Blizzard has way more staff now and can get things done faster than two years from whenever, and they're also smarter about hiding their hands longer so the games they announce are much closer to completion.

But whose side will you be on? Will you be leading the charge against god, or fighting against Tyreal and the winners of Diablo 2?

Ant10708 Haven't you ever read a comic book? As long as a franchise has life, the creators will find a way to keep it going despite the deaths of important people.

ArrowX there not bad, good as far as game books go.

but somehow Diablo will show I bet someone will recreate the soulstones of Diablo and his brothers using the now shattered tainted worldstone. Or maybe heaven will start throwing down because that Arch Angel broke the world stone.

Angryhydralisk I thought there were three prime evils and five lesser evils (two dead).

I don't think I'd want to fight three "lesser" enemies in a super-hyped sequel.

But are the Diablo books any good? I've been meaning to get them for a long time. I gave the other Blizzard themed books a chance and liked them enough (Well, most of them anyways.).

ArrowX Aren't some of the main 7 villains still alive? Alone there should be enough to build a sequel on since the worldstone broke. Plus in one of the books Mephisto's son is still alive.

Angryhydralisk So if Mephisto, Diablo, AND Ball all bit it by having their soulstones smashed in 2, please enlighten me as to who could be the new villain or how they could be brought back in a potential 3rd diablo.

I'd love to see a third Diablo myself but I can't help but say they wrote themselves in a trap on the second one.

The Raging Brute its gonna take a few years before Diablo 3 gets released. I met a guy named Mike something at Jack in the box and he sed that "its not going to be coming out soon *wink*" as he left. so its confirmed D3 will be out soon

MattJack I have a better idea...

Cancel the multi-million dollar movie, and fucking make Diablo 3 with that money.

Imagine if Peter Molyneux moved into the film industry.

Dr. V Starcraft Ghost: The Movie! Make it, and I'll never whine about the game again.

Angryhydralisk This could be.....dumb. BUT I am happy Paul Andersons not doing Castlevania.

RaNkeri Oh yeah, let's bring in Uwe Boll

Perndog Note that Diablo was removed from the list at Legendary Pictures right away. I bet they have to keep all the Diablo stuff hush-hush until Blizzard announces Diablo 3 at BlizzCon.

Also, since Blizzard is willing to cancel high-profile video games after years of development because they're not quite good enough, and they have not sold the movie rights to this (and so retain creative control), I will bet anything that their movies will either be great or not be released at all.
