Emu If you have dual processors:

When you first start up the game, hit CTRL ALT Delete and go to your task manager. Go to your processes and find one that should be called Shock2.exe or something along those lines. Right click it and hit Set Affinity and turn off one of your processors. You have to do this every time you play. ;(

Guitar Woman I think I'm just going to build a wiindows 98 machine to play these old games on. All this patching is ridiculous.

Guitar Woman So I got rid of the patch I was using and tried it again in 98 compatability mode, and it only gives sound during movies and shuts off after I come out of the cyrogenic thing on the Rickenbacker. I tried downloading a different patch, but it won't do anything because I don't have a CD. Not only that, but the forums on Through The Looking Glass refuse to help with the Underdogs download version, which is the queerest thing in the universe.

Guitar Woman Man, I've never gotten this fucker to work either. I downloaded the patch AND ran it in '98 compatability mode, and I got nothing.

Emu I got it to work okay by setting the affinity to one processor. I just hope it holds out.

Dr. Boogie I had to get a special patch to get it to work on XP, maybe it would work on Vista as well?

Emu OK I got the sound working but now I'm crashing about 4-5 minutes into gameplay every time.

HALP

I downloaded System Shock 2 from Home of the Underdogs and I'm not getting any sound. I'm playing from Vista, which might be the problem.
