I lost many a contest to those who pandered to 'good causes'. I feel your pain, man. |

Kitsa | I'll have you know that I have a long, vocal career of hating pink ribbons and all the shit that goes with them, Tadao.

I lack vision to do something like that. Excellent job though. And what a jerk, playing the cancer card. You were cheated. |

Based on the 1st and 2nd place entries, your pumpkin should've won that competition. |

There's a book called "Extreme Pumpkins" that was a source of inspiration. However, I really like what the book "Play With Your Pumpkins" had done. Kinda' a mesh of the two. I ended up taking 3rd place. Just like I called it, Pink M&M Breast Cancer Pumpkin took 1st place, Charlie Brown took 2nd. ![]() |

Awesome job man, love it, especially the teeth and the little pumpkin hands. BTW, did you see a similar design on another site or book? I swear I saw one just like that not too long ago... I think it was in a jack-o-lantern book I was reading in a Halloween shop. But yeah, it had a big pumpkin eating a little one. :O |

Tadao | If you lose, smash your pumpkin, yell "You don't deserve my art!", and then run out of the room crying.

I carved the big parts, but used a dremel w/ router bit for the eyes. We had a contest at work with about 30 entries. I find out today if I win, but I don't think I will. Mine was by far the best carving, however, some people opted to "decorate" their pumpkins. There was one painted like a pink M&M complete with the BREAST CANCER AWARENESS RIBBON. I was friggin' pissed. I can't compete against people who do that kind of shit. Shameless, really. Another one was painted with the Charlie Brown "The Great Pumpkin" patch scene. They did a good job painting, but there wasn't a single bit of carving done. The one that I voted for, which probably won't get another single vote, was a pumpkin adaption of Xavier, Renegade Angel. It had the bad wig and a giant beak with two diff color eyes. GENIUS! 99% of the people I work with are entirely clueless. "Oh, that's interesting." Not sure who made that one yet 'cause the submissions were anonymous, but when I find out who crafted the pumpkin I'm going to be their best friend. |
