In case some of you never saw it, here's a collection of some of the stuff I still had backed up from when I was freelancing for National Lampoon (this was before I was offered a full-time position): http://www.i-mockery.com/lampoon Wish I had more back-ups of my stuff, along with Max's pieces. We both did a lot for them, but the archives on their were completely wiped out as if our work (along with the work of many others) never even existed. |

National Lampoon's Employee Eviction Extravanganza Pt. II: Stock Swindlers NL is a corporation that has been at their sophomoric film antics for over 20 years. It spends most of its time throwing fund raisers, stock schemes and shitty humor. When the landlord decides that it's finally time for a rent payment, Lampoon doesn't pay their share. So Lampoon owners manipulate the stock even more! Much fucking funnier than any of their movies! At the same time, consultants who manage Lampoon's high profile portfolios (clown nose and fart bag bonds), realized they're fucked and that their witless employees will soon be peddling Cracked on street corners! |

Glad I didn't take that job... When I first moved out here, I was offered a full-time job by National Lampoon as one of their staff writers. After visiting their office and speaking with some employees, not only did it feel like they had no direction, but it also felt like they were all broken down by the job and only there to collect a paycheck. I also knew of rumors that they were inflating reports of their own site's traffic by claiming that their actual traffic was that of all the sites in their new ad network combined. That's the equivalent of me saying I-Mockery's traffic stats are the combined numbers of every site that we're affiliated with (Fark, Newgrounds, etc.). And now today I read this: http://wehonews.com/z/wehonews/archi...articleID=3205 Sometimes you second guess whether or not you should've taken a job, but that is one I'm really glad I turned down. |
