CaptainBubba FS made me laugh. Then think. Then laugh again.

Jeanette X I'm certain I'm a mesomorph. I have a compact frame, and people in my family tend to be overweight, so I work out a lot. My boyfriend is an ectomorph and is very tall and thin, so when we cuddle it is tricky to get our bodies situatied together comfortably.

Anonymous I don't know if I am a meso or an ecto
I think rog is a meso though

FS That sounds almost too good to be true, Gary. But what else do you have for us today?
Jul 7th, 2003 02:41 PM
CaptainBubba I saw your pic. You need cardio, and about a 1800-2000 cal diet. (1400-1600 if your up to it.) If you're willing to and able to, then do a weight routine. I'd always suggest a weight routine for guys, because muscle looks good and the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism, which makes losing fat easy (In a cutting phase of one month I lost 20 pounds, or 25 if you include water weight).

The_voice_of_reason What do i do if am tall but an endomorph?

My brother is a Mesomorph He eats about twice as much as me and is still disgutingly fit.

CaptainBubba Alot of ectomorphs on this board apparently. First some terms:

Endomorph: Roughly 80% of people are endomorphic in body type. They are on the shorter end of the scale, gain fat easily, and gain muscle a little less easy, but easier that ectomorphs. Endomorphs main benifit is very strong bones.

Mesomorphs: About 5% of people make us this group. They gain muscle very easily and at the same time have a high metabolism, so little fat. Athletes and models are usually in this category.

Ectomorphs: 15% of course. They are usually tall, may have an abnormally small frame size, and have an extremely hard time putting on any weight whatsoever, which some would consider a boon of genetics. (mostly people who aren't ectomorphs)

There are combinations on the three and such, but most people tend to have the characteristics of one in particular. The simplest route for each type is as follows (There are better, but more complicated ways to get a good body):

Endo: Maintain roughly a 2400 cal. diet (2000 for the ladies) consiting of 40% protein and 60% fat/carbs, with at least 30 grams of fiber. Cardio is a must. girls should do a cycle routine (low weights, short breaks, high reps) for weight training. Boys should do a split routine (Specific muscle groups on specific days, consisiting of 5-8 excersies, 12-20 sets in total, 8-12 reps per excersise).

Meso: Fuck you cunts.

Ecto: Adjust your calorie intake accordingly by increasing gradually and watching your weight gain. You should have the same diet as the Endo's, but with higher calories. Cardio is nice, but probably would just sabatoge your gains by increasing your metabolism. Same training as Endo's.

My boyfriend has the same problem. He's really tall and thin, and he gets cold in the winter because he doesn't have as much body fat as most people. I'm the opposite, short and compact, and I often warm his hands during the winter because they get so cold.

Mockery Stop calling it ginger beer damnit!

The only fruit I really eat is bananas. I don't mind them at all, I just often forget to buy them or bother eating them. As for veggies, I'll eat peas (though I'm very picky about what kind), potatoes, and corn. That's about it.

whoreable I dont eat as often as I need to either. I think a big part of that though is I dont eat when I dont have to. I think people eat even if they dont have to alot of the time. I think alot of time people also eat cause they like to. Personally I dont really care, I dont really love eating like alot of people and dont have "favoriate foods" or foods I would just "die for". And I think because of that I will never be overwieght.

Dole Rog, you need to get some fruit & veg in yer life mate. You can't be a martial arts bad ass on a diet of pop tarts and ginger beer
Jun 26th, 2003 10:58 AM
FS I'm more or less the same. Don't eat regularly enough - just a quick bite for breakfast, another somewhere around lunch, then dinner, and often later in the evening I start really eating again. It's probably not healthy.

I've always been skinny, but I'm kinda short too. So basically, I'm puny. I don't expect to be getting much taller, so I'd like to fill out some more.

Mockery Actually, I've always wanted to gain weight, that's been my problem. I've finally put on some weight in the past year since I started taking martial arts and working out a bit, but still, I'd like to put on more weight. It probably has something to do with the fact that I only eat one really good meal per day. For breakfast I maybe have a pop-tart or somethin, and for lunch I have peanut butter sammiches almost every day. I only drink ginger ale and juice (fruit punch). Dinner I normally eat a bit more though... huge portions of spaghetti, stir fried beef (with no veggies and a lot of soy sauce), pizza, breads, etc etc.

But back to the whole weight thing, it's the same old story... people will always compare themselves with those who are famous and in the public eye and have tons of money to spend on personal trainers and make-up and crazy health foods. It's no wonder there's so many people that feel like shit about themselves... and while I might think they look very attractive, they'll still insist they're "ugly" or "too fat" or whatever. It's a very sad thing indeed :/
Jun 26th, 2003 10:26 AM
Dole I would say they go hand in hand really, if you are eating more calories than you burn during exercise you will put on weight.
Jun 26th, 2003 09:14 AM
Jeanette X Excercise is even more important than eating right. And it improves your mood too.

Jun 26th, 2003 06:46 AM
Dole "It speeds up your metabolism, maybe it burns calories or fat or something. " -thats not true. Pot just fools your body into thinking its hungry. And it makes everything taste oh so good.
If you want to lose weight it HAS to be a sensible diet and exercise. There is no other safe way....try walking more. People are too reliant on their cars these days.
Jun 26th, 2003 03:21 AM
Grim Symphony The whole idea of skinny=attractive is mostly media programming. I have a bit of meat on my bones, and I have never had a problem finding men. I have found that it has more to do with how you carry yourself
Jun 3rd, 2003 01:16 PM
Helm If you're feeling bad about being overweight, I suggest you look into exactly why it makes you feel that way. Is it because you find your body unable to operate as you'd want it to (or some other misc. functionary issue), or is it because you think it makes you unatractive? If it's the latter, then I think the problem is much more psychological than physical. Losing weight might seem to fix such complexes, but all it really does is make them irrelevant. Not good.

But what do I know, all the girls wanted me in highschool
Jun 2nd, 2003 09:13 PM
noob3 What? What are you guys talking about? I'm confused...
Jun 2nd, 2003 09:03 PM
AChimp You have to admit that it seems to be working, Carni.
Jun 2nd, 2003 08:22 PM
Carnivore What a brilliant diet plan. Eliminate fat cells and brain cells in one fell swoop.
Jun 2nd, 2003 05:46 PM
noob3 Yes, and that's why it's so good. It speeds up your metabolism, maybe it burns calories or fat or something. I just know I have lost alot of wieght on it. It's really not hard to avoid eating while on it, ciggerettes will calm your appetite, but I don't smoke them. Alot of my pothead friends do, and they are all thin. They all stopped eating school lunches to save up their lunch money to buy pot. And it shows.
Jun 2nd, 2003 05:30 PM
FS But doesn't pot usually stimulates the appetite?
