I agree. I guess I kind of mispoke there. What I meant that the child's statement could have been seen as a reflection of the parents racism but that, all in all, what he said wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Blackjack ...and then I worked out how long it would take 200 people to cover the surface of the bus with a layer of jizz one inch thick...

FS Maybe he wanted to say African-American but his tiny brain got bored halfway through the word

There's only 40 ways to raise a non-racist child? That's not much. I bet chapter one is titled "Don't say ******".

Esuohlim In my opinion, the children can only be as racist as the parents.

Actually, a small kid shouting out "AFRICAN" at a black person isn't racist at all. The kid was merely pointing out an accurate observation.

Fuck this overly politically-correct society we live in. Bunch of faggots.

She obviously didn't read the book.

kellychaos :shrug I don't think that it's so much racist as it is descriptive. Had the parents been REAL rednecks, I'm sure that the kid could have popped off with an epithet that would have made the situation a hell of a lot stickier. :/

sadie my ex-mother-in-law simply guffaws through her thirty-year-old embarrassment when she tells the story of how my ex, at about three years, looked up at the black man behind them in line at mcdonald's, reached out his arms, and said, "daddy."

Captain Robo Little kids seem to ruin everything

But I have to say, I love seeing them do it because they don't know any better.

Bus story

I was riding the bus home from university yesterday, and a young mother got on with her 2 year old kid. The kid just wouldn't shut up, and kept pointing at things and yelling out the word for it.

"Lady!"
"Truck!"
"Yellow!"

I was starting to get a little annoyed; it's cute for the first few times, but after 10 minutes of having every possible item in existence pointed out, your nerves get a little frayed.

Anyways, the bus stopped and a black couple got on and sat nearby. The little kid suddenly stopped looking around and started at them for a few seconds before he pointed...

"AFRICAN!"

I have never seen anyone turn a brighter shade of red than that mother.
