Wow...that was harsh...

I never said it was perfect...but I haven't ran into half of those problems, and what I have is exaggerated...

I also found significantly less lag of AO then EQ, which would take me no less than 15 minutes to get into the game on a cable modem.

I dunno...just my opinion that AO is better. I've played both and enjoyed it more.

Les Waste I'm addicted to Phantasy Star Online and I haven't even played it online yet. I'm waiting for my Dreamcast broadband adaptor to come in the mail. No way in hell am I getting a dial up ISP just to play fucking PSO online.

Luchatein I bought EQ Gold and I still regret it to this day for wasting my money. My friend would always talk about how great it was...I was completely underwhelmed when I started to play it. I'd reccomend Anarchy Online...I've been playing it on and off for about a year. It's much more social, and a LOT less laggy than EQ.

timrpgland My friend was addicted to EQ and I played it for a while but was still heavily into UO at the time so I quit. I do play EQOA still and I enjoy it. The game doesn't have the graphics that FFXI does (for you graphics brats ) but it is fun. Trade skills were recently added. Frontiers will also spice up the game.

I do play these MMORPGs still and I enjoy them:
DAoC
DA
EQOA
FFXI Beta
AC

If anyone wants to meet up in any of them let me know.

I was watching my brother play EQOA and the game looked terrible.

James EQ has been around for too long, and is quickly becoming outdated. Your best bet might be to hold out for one of the newer ones that might interest you, like Final Fantasy XI or World of Warcraft.

Or EverQuest 2.

The only reason any game such as these might become hopelessly addicting, is because they're pay-to-play games, so you want to get your money's worth. But other than that, I really don't see what's so baby-killing obsessive about EverQuest, or other games like it.

ScruU2wice theres hole shit load a stories on how addicting everquest gets. There was a story on the news where man killed his baby cuz its constant crying kept him from his game. another story i heard that a guy died cuz he held in his pee for like 3 days becuz he didnt want to leave his computer. im not sure of the validity of these stories, though.

crash0814 Whatever you do, do not buy EverQuest. I wisely stayed away, but my two brothers were not so lucky. They are now hopelessly addicted. Their name for it is EverCrack. If you don't mind that, go ahead, play it. You'll probably like it.
