Cel shading can either be really fucking bad or really fucking good. In this case it looks like the former, but I'm not willing to download the demo to find out. Wind Waker looked terrible for the first five minutes of play, but once I was used to it, all my other games looked bland in comparison. |

Normally i would agree, but they used an decent mix of cel shading and 3d environments that makes it actually kinda cool.. PLus having read some of the comics it's based off, it is almost fitting to use that type of imaging for this particular game. Ah well, to each his own. |

XIII ![]() Based off of a Belgian comic book, this game is set in the 1960's with a conspiracy/kennedy assasination type thng going on. It's a first person shooter built on a highly modified version of the Unreal Warfare engine. The wierdest thing about the game i thought, was that it is comepletely cell shaded, this really gives it a awesome comic book feel. The features of the game are many, the one i thought were coolest was (as you can see in the screenshot above slightly) when you get a head shot a little animation is played above youre hud showing what type of projectile and where it hit... (Reminiscent of a very old terminator game on pc - if anyone can remeber that) Pretty Satisfying actually... Anyways, give it a shot i'll leave it uploaded for a few days- http://www.speedphreak.com/~karlk/xiii_uk_demo.zip Approx 90 meg- [/img] |
