Neil Young's Greendale Anyone else pick this up? I grabbed the CD/DVD version of it, and have only listened to the CD so far, but it's fucking great. It's a very "Crazy Horse" album with lots of distortion and bass, but the songs hold up very well to some of his more self indulgent moments. Not that this album isn't insanely self indulgent! It is, for sure, since it is a concept album based a community called Greendale and a family called Green. It works though, showing that Neil is still capable of making great tunes. |
