JackShit geez thats great ace! no, I understand the movies I just don't like them. You all are those kind of people who can't understand that some people out there just don't like certain movies. like my roommates they can't understand how i hate armageddon.. its just a shitty movie...oh and calling somthing art is a cop out... everyone knows so called "artists" are nothing more than pretentious bullshitters.... i could take a picture of someones floater and claim it was a comment on society...

Spectre X Jack, you obviously don't get the movies, even though your friend explains them, seeing as you can't even spell right.

Evrytthing in his movies is intentional, like, the second part of Full Metal Jacket, it was meant to be grim and unentartaining, because that's what war is. A Clockwork Orange goes from dark and brooding, to light and fairly dulled when he is 'reformed' because it reflects the character.

And Stephen King didn't like the Shining because it was his book, and Kubrick's film turned out VERY diffirently than the book.

2001: A Space Odysee is just fucking art man, you don't have the right to know of it's existance.

Oh, and it is your OPINION that the movies blow, so don't go acting like you opinion is fact, because, well, face it, you're one of the most insignficant people on the planet.

And I like his movies, but I'm no punk that buys his clothes at Hot Topic, nor do I like them because it's 'in'. I like them because I like them. They're dark, and switch over to a completely other sphere, they're original, they're not even meant to entertain on some occasions. All they do is express something about the characters in the movies, and the events. They're basically stories, but with pictures added for mood and effect.

So, shut up because you fail.

JackShit oh no, i understand the movies perfectly well.. a good friend of mine feels the need to constantly point out absolutly everything about his movies.... my point is They all blkow... wll the shinning isn't bad... but it's not very great either... he;ll even stephen king said he hates stan version of it.... just face it you guys got all cuaght up in the hype... i'll bet he made some deal with stephen spielberg "steve-o if i die before i can do A.I. you gotta do it for me man.... i have to take one more shit on the movie going public.....it's my legacy man" or somthing to that effect.... so maybe you assholes should get off your high fucking horse and just admit that his films really arn't that great i can see how some people might like his movies.... though most of the people i know who claim they do are little Punk-wannabe drama queens who buy thier clothes from hot topic and runaway from home and hang out in the city park just to be more "punk" like they have to be legit or somthing its really sad..... but yeah grow up..

The Retro Kat It's a damn shame my review for 2001: A Space Odysee(sp>?) got lost in the abyss of the movie reviews, i spent a damn long time on that. But Eyes Wide Shut is in my opinion stanley's worst film. And I'm a big fan, too.

Royal Tenenbaum That picture rocked, and Jack should indeed be killed with some type of large film canister of A Clockwork Orange.

Spectre X It's not invader zim, it's a Robot I made.

I got the antenna from GIR from Zim, yeah, but the rest of the similarities are coincidental.

and Jack, you're an idiot.

2001: A Space Odyssy (sp?) > many many many many movies.

you may not have enough cranial capacity to get many of the things in his movies, but that doesn't make it so that they infact are what you say they are.

JackShit SK is an over-rated piece of shit, all his movies suck his dead bloated dick. especially clockwork orange... i once saw this porno called clockwork orgy (seriously) and it had a better story and much better acting.

soundtest One thing that bugged me about that movie was Nicole Kidman's portrayal of smoking marijuana... christ, she acted like she just shot up some pure China white heroin or toked a hit of crack.
Aug 28th, 2003 02:42 PM
Royal Tenenbaum No, I don't. It would be ridiculous to enjoy ever film.

I actually do love that movie, and Atom Egoyan. Oh well, perhaps some day you'll be enlightened enough to 'get' Eyes Wide Shut. I found it to be very compelling; the story is merely a journey, no of it has to actually make sense, it's the atmosphere that is the interesting aspect. I also found it to be quite hilarious, since the only person looking for sex, Tom Cruise's character, is the only one who really doesn't get it. He is seeing sex everywhere as he hunts for it, but it's destructive, destroying lives around him. It's just a great film, and it's a pity lots of people hate it.
I've actually never seen it. I wouldn't doubt that it's good. I'm just pointing out the fact that you think every artsy movie is pure brilliance. Even the ones that blatantly suck ass. You're bound to love it.

I think he died four days after the movie was done... or maybe it was just four days after shooting the movie, and editing still had to be done.

I was watching the movie on TV last night. The story does finally pick up the pace beyond the point where Tom Cruise visits the sex cult mansion, but by that time it's already lost my attention. It's just not my kind of movie.
Aug 28th, 2003 06:40 AM
pjalne I didn't like it until the third time I saw it. I still think it has loads and loads of weak points and I think Nicole Kidman is absolute shit in it, but it has a lot of aspects that grow on you.

soundtest I didn't care for it too much, but I liked the 'dreamy' feel it had to it and how everything seemed slightly surreal. My biggest complaint is that it just feels incomplete. If I recall, Kubrick passed on quite a bit before its release...

Protoclown I've only seen it once, and I don't remember a lot of it, but I did enjoy it.
