Drew Katsikas Too bad they can rock the house. Listen to it's showtime part 2. If it doesn't do it for you, as the old cliche goes, check your pulse.

Yeah, too bad they can't rock the fucking house. They are mediocre rockers who think they are real rockstars. Bands that suck often have to compensate with that shitty ass image and "attitude," and the Mooney "fuckin" Suzuki are the kings at doing just that.

So, uh, STFU. Christ, you should be ashamed of yourself just for using "STFU".....

Royal Tenenbaum I Meg White. She's great. Her drumming definitely does not take away from the Stripes music, in fact it is her simplistic patterns that allow the songs to be accessible. I really think she is under-ratedly wonderful.

Drew Katsikas Meg White's like a poor man's Mo Tucker. She sucks. Oh well, I still enjoy the stripes. Kevin, STFU. Last time I checked, the ability to rock the fucking house made a good band, regardless of a retro image.

Royal Tenenbaum Judge the music, not the image. If they didn't have the licks to back it up, then they suck. Bands like Mooney and the White Stripes can fucking play though.

KevinTheOmnivore HEY, IT TOTALLY ROCKS TO BE OLD AND ACT LIKE WE ARE COOL ROCKERS!!!

Please.

Royal Tenenbaum If he doesn't like the Velvets he may have a brain defect. They are one of the best. The remaster is really nice; I picked it up right when it came out and have spun it a ton of times. It's definitely worth getting.

Also, Loose Fur is sort of a Kraut Rock type band by Jim O'Rourke and Jeff Tweedy. It's really awesome, and if you're a Wilco fan at all I recommend it. And even if you aren't you should still download it at least.

Drew Katsikas My friend's all about TV. He saw Marquee Moon at Newbury Comics (small New England Chain record store) and he dloaded the stuff off it, eventually buying it. I've heard it a couple times, and have enjoyed it. I've been considering picking up the crazy remaster sapecial edition thingy, so this gives me more incentive to pick it up. I just don't get how my friend can love bands like Television, The Strokes, and Can, and not like the Velvets. In fact, he constantly insults my unconditional love for them.

Royal Tenenbaum Mooney Suzuki do rock the house. Electric Sweat is up there with the Stooges, almost.

"their stuff offf the album Tago Mago"

Tago Mago is wicked, but it's the only Can album I've heard. Drew, I'm sure already have, but if you haven't, make sure you check out Television's Marquee Moon.

crash0814 Interesting Fact: They played on the title song from School of Rock.

Drew Katsikas My third attempt at shameless promotion of Can:

Michael Mooney and Domo Suzuki were the two lead vocalists of the legendary Krautrock band, Can. If you know what's good for you, check out some of their stuff offf the album Tago Mago or Ege Bamyasai (sp).

Miss Modular The Mooneys kick effing ass. I saw them in Albany last year and they rocked the house.

Also worth checking out is The Dirtbombs. Haven't seen them live, but Dangerous Magical Noise is incredible.

The Mooney Fucking Suzuki

Rock out so much it should be illegal. Check them out if you want to hear a REAL rock revival band. I find them to be more enjoyable than Hendrix and Zepplin, even, just becuase their album, electric sweat, is actually quite diverse.
