Ok then:
1:Updated Drivers
2:Messed with some video settings
3:Cleaned The TF2 Folder deleting things like skins that did not work.
4:Re-installation

Edit: I did not get the rings around the telleporter but I still have trails following me so good enough.
Also, sometimes i do a re-installation if it quits working.

Fathom Zero No other game does this for me. But yeah, that does make loads of sense. I'm shipping off my 360 anyway, it's refusing to read any discs anymore without making horrible scratching noises.

Dr. Octogonopus That's a good point, Chojin. I never though of that. I assumed it was because I got it used..... I'll check it out.

Chojin We went over to one of Emily's relatives' houses for a Christmas gift exchange thing and their kid had a 360. He'd been having a problem where after about 10 minutes of gameplay, a halftone dot pattern would appear on most of the textures and the sky in COD4. Later that night he got red ring'd.

So maybe all the graphical fuckups (not the ones related to particle effects) are due to the mainboard heating up?

Fathom Zero I believe mine was DOA when I got it on Christmas. It makes Half Life 2 crash.

I've noticed the confetti crap too on my copy. It's gotten worse over time, too, like now the antlions have confetti skin, and alex is a hovering pile of random textures. The only game that works 100% is TF2, and portal works pretty well, except the pipes have the confetti thing. I'm very disappointed; otherwise it's the best game I own in my eyes.

Chojin no, my problem was trying to get two computers from the same IP to connect to steam games simultaneously, and that problem just fixed itself after I left it alone for a day. Coincendentally, steam's support team was worthless.

But since this is a forum and you were asking us for help, you should GIVE BACK to the community by letting others know how you fixed your problem. It's more or less why forums were invented in the first place.

You tremendous fuck face.

I tried playing TF2 at work before and had similar problems.

I believe they call it a "LOD" based system, which basically means the engine will monitor the game's performance and try and cut out as many effects as possible to keep performance above a certain threshold. Particularly things like particle effects are removed as they can have the largest impact on frame rate.
My video card is: ATI Radeon X1250
