Mockery | Same here, Dell isn't bad. Gateway and Compaq are the worst that I've had to deal with in the past. |

Perndog | Compaq uses low quality hardware and adds all sorts of worthless shit software to Windows, taking up drive space and cluttering the OS. Plus their tech support is shitty (I used to work for them and my co-workers were idiots), but I suppose all tech support is shitty, so that's kind of a moot point. |

Jebus | It was a good deal if you don't know how to build a computer. If you built it yourself you could probably get the same specs for around 400$. Although I would never recommend buying a compaq. |

AChimp | It sounds like a pretty good deal, but I have to convert your damn American dollars into Canadian ones. |

Was this a good deal? I got a new compaq PC for $500 with all the basics (mouse, moniter, speakers) and these stats: 2.4 ghz 128mb RAM 40gb hard drive Some non brand name 32mb video card Then I upgraded the RAM to 640mb and got a new 128mb ATI Raedon video card with a video cable outlet for a combined price of $240 including tax. ( I also got some kickass new speakers but thats off topic) It runs pretty fast and is definitely a big improvement on my old bargain mart 1.2ghz pc I got at a computer show, but I still wonder if I could've done better. |
