And the only reason I could give two shits about RE is because of the plot. It's an ongoing B-Horror movie. |

King Hadas | The fourth one, plotwise, has pretty much nothing to do with the rest of the Resident evil series.

So I caved in and paid 40 dollars for RE2. Guy at the store tells me they'll be re-releasing them again in a few months. (This is after I paid for it, of course) FUCK |

Supafly345 | Gamecube just paid the most for the best one's, despite gamecube and xbox's ability to easily outpreform the playstation.

I actually thought RE1 had better graphics than 4, but maybe that's because the environments in 1 were drawn rather than rendered in 3D. Regardless, RE1 makes Silent Hill 4's graphics look like shit. I'm convinced that the Gamecube is the system best suited for horror games. |

So, if you still have the original PSX versions of RE2 and 3, there's no justification to buy the remakes, especially for $45? I do suppose retro games are doing well (look at the Classic Series on the GBA), but seeing as every pawn shop in town here has no less than 30 copies of both games, I don't see the justification. Even the NEW Super Mario Bros. is relatively hard to find in comparison. RE2 and 3 are not. |

Perhaps I missed it, but aren't you forgetting about the original Resident Evil game on the gamecube? The one that was a complete remake and happens to be really good. Sure it's nowhere near the new Resident Evil 4, but it was still damned impressive when it came out. |

For RE2, the graphics are slightly improved, but it's most likely just smoother textures. It's essentially a direct port of the PSX version, and considering the DC port of RE2 had a handful of extras that weren't put into the GC port, this isn't a very good thing. Same thing for RE3, although the graphics are apparently much more improved. But again, no extras that weren't found in the PSX version (the DC and PC versions had more). And yes, when they were brand new, they were $40-$50, which made NO sense given the quality of these releases, and the fact that I think the DC ports were much cheaper. The used prices are probably so high because the games are now fairly hard to find, and demand has increased with RE4's popularity. |

RE2 and 3 are direct ports from the PSX games. RE0 is a remake of the N64 game that never got released. Technically not a remake. |
