VaporTrailx1 Is backwards compatibility really that difficult to program into a system? They designed a system which allows you to plug a piece of hardware into a pc and the OS will automatically read it and install it. You don't need to go through all the configuration BS anymore. But a preprogrammed DOS or pre-xp emulator thingy is just too damn hard I guess.

BTW I have the 32-bit version of vista, not the 64.

Photoshop 7.0, Duke Nukem 3D, Doom. Actually I can't think of anything else.

1. You can disable the UAC in Control Panel so that you're not asked for permission to do everything. Takes about a minute. LINK Method #4 should be easiest for ya.

Vista isn't the anti-christ everyone thinks it is, and I hate to admit it, but I like it better than XP now. Then again, I've taken the time to learn the OS a bit.

Tadao I'm for the advancement of technology. I like 64 bit, too bad my 64 bit browser won't play 32 bit flash vids, but why the hell would I want to watch a 32 bit flash vid? It's time to step up to 64 bit.

Tadao There is one thing I don't like about vista. But maybe there is a setting. When I defrag, I can't find anything that tells me what percent it's at. No graph, no numbers. Nothing really.

DevilWearsPrada Vista is overbashed IMO. Most the time the general public blames it for problems instead of their own incompetence

10,000 Volt Ghost I updated my Antivirus and it seems that what was causing the ruckus. Now my Mojave is good again.
Sep 15th, 2008 08:46 PM
Tadao I've never had a problem with it.

MarioRPG Is Vista really that terrible? I'm thinking of getting a laptop soon, and I was looking forward to Vista.
Sep 14th, 2008 01:27 PM

RPGmaker idk ive never had a problem getting on GOW, WoW, FFXI, Etc. The only problem ive had with my vista was when i was holdng a video conf. it left an open IE in task when nothing was open and it would error out my new IE when i opened a new one. Fixed that easily tho with an update.

VaporTrailx1 I got it all to work finally! all I had to do was restore my computer to original factory settings from my backup drive and reinstall everything I ever put on the pc!

10,000 Volt Ghost Hahaha, I don't even think you need to have an internet connection for AIM to get through.
Sep 11th, 2008 06:31 PM
VaporTrailx1 Not even java can connect to update.

AIM has no problem getting through though. Neither does windows update or quicktime.

10,000 Volt Ghost I've been having the same problem lately. I had to allow programs, then turn off the firewall, then turn off the anti-virus firewall. It's really annoying.

VaporTrailx1 i dunno. I'm trying to get ahold of EA but their service sucks. they got no phone number and emailing them takes forever
Sep 10th, 2008 07:07 PM
pac-man You should probably talk to the folks at Microsoft. Be rude and use naughty language.
Sep 10th, 2008 03:31 PM
VaporTrailx1 yep. I dunno what's up with it
Sep 10th, 2008 01:05 AM
pac-man Are you using the Administrator profile?
Sep 9th, 2008 11:36 PM
VaporTrailx1 actually i'm pretty sure Gamespy is the problem when it comes to that one. They never send me my damn confirmation email so i have an unconfirmed account. It's not coming up in my spam filter either.

VaporTrailx1 I just find it retarded that EA decided to make Battlefield 2142 unplayable without connecting to it's server. Atleast I got Ground Control 2 and world in Conflict to keep me busy. Hopefully I can figure out how to get Gamespy working by the time the Battlefield 2 Collection comes.
Sep 9th, 2008 09:52 PM
MetalMilitia You're probably doing it wrong.
Sep 9th, 2008 09:36 PM
VaporTrailx1 it still does it even with the firewall off
Sep 9th, 2008 09:18 PM
DevilWearsPrada you probably have to set 'allow connections from' everytime you connect through a game
Well, once for each program, at least
