did anyone else think this movie sucked hard? all of the characters seemed out of character, the whole thing seemed really forced bart's cock wasn't making things any better for me either |

[SPOILERS] I saw the movie because my friends were psyched, but in all honesty, I haven't watched The Simpsons show on my own in about ten years. Ironically, I somehow ended up the first person in line for our showing. It was pretty funny, though if I'd been watching The Simpsons religiously like some people I might not've found the jokes so fresh. But, in the end, the movie was pretty funny. Most of the jokes worked, though I could've lived my life without seeing Bart's penis. Things I liked? Moe became Emperor of Springfield. lol! And the pig was pretty funny, despite all the hype it had. I probably would've rented it if my friends hadn't wanted to go. It's kind of a one-time movie for me. [/SPOILERS]  ^ Me.

I agree that there was too much slapstick, but excluding Borat, I can't think of any other comedy movie from recent years that had so many memorable scenes and one liners. I won't list them, since it's only been out a few days and the IMDB quotes page will probably do that for me, but most of the funny parts had nothing to do with Homer. The main things that impressed me were the characterisations and voice acting, with all of the characters, excluding possibly some weird Bart moments, acting pretty much the way they used to. And I only cringed once in 90 minutes (at boob lady,) which is a major step up from the current show. SPOILERS Quote:

If it's on par with Season 10 then the movie sounds much better than I thought. Maybe I actually will go see it now. |
