Zomboid Yep. When I first saw the intro movie with the orc and the human fighting it had me stunned. The detail is incredible. I think overall that's the second best next to the one where thrall and grom go to fight that guy.

I have to admit, part of the reason I'll buy the expansion is to see the cut scenes.

Mockery Blizzard's cutscenes are great cuz you'd watch them even if they weren't part of the game. It's like watching a movie... everything is so well done. Great actors, great epic music, great animation... it's all there.

Grazzt Planescape: Torment is probably the only game where I enjoy reading hours of dialogue.

Yea, and when the English dialogue is not in synch with the Japanese lip movements... that gets my goat!

Anonymous Some do, but others are neat, like the Blizzard ones.

Protoclown I don't mind cut scenes if you can skip them or if they bear some relevance to the story. However, I've been seeing too many of these "talking heads" cut scenes that just go back and forth between characters talking to one another, and the timing is always such that you're sitting there staring at a character for about two seconds after they finish talking before they cut back to the other one. That's annoying as shit. Like the cutscenes in the new Wolfenstein. A fucking SNORE-FEST.

Zomboid Personally, I like cut scenes. Especially the ones from blizzard.

Rongi Soundtest, don't go anywhere near Xenosaga. Maybe 20% of the game is actual combat . The rest are hour long cutscenes.

whoreable I totally agree. I am tired of the 5 minute long cutscenes every level that really dont enhance the story much.

soundtest Definitely - if done right. And if you can skip them it's fine. I guess my gripe is that they are now obligatory and often not done right. Maybe I'm just undiagnosed for A.D.D., but so often when I start a new game I'm yelling "let me fucking play already!" at the screen because I'm forced to sit through several minutes of CG 'plot development' about characters I have no reason to care about yet.

Anonymous I don't mind long cutscenes. As long as you have the option to skip them if you've seen them already, or they're just too damn boring.

timrpgland I guess it all depends. If it is actually cool, then it's good. I do like it better when the cutscenes are real-time instead.

Long winded intros and CG cutscenes

Anybody else getting tired of these? When developers first started using them the novelty was cool, but now that they have become standard they're annoying me. More often than not they have little if any bearing on the actual game and are nothing more than 3DS Max masturbation sessions.

I long for the days of YOU are GOOD, THEY are BAD: STOP THEM.
