I downloaded a copy of Borderlands and applied the crack to the Securom BS, playing it for about twenty minutes just now. I found that my computer runs it very nicely, better than Left 4 Dead 2 as a matter of fact. Given that there is no demo and recommended specs count for nothing when judging whether or not a game can run, I would not be buying the game otherwise. Because I downloaded an illicit copy and got to actually see how well it runs, I am now buying the game. :hat |

Microshock | Oh, you're still on that shit. Yeah I see everyone's noticing that you're trying to ignore me

Microshock | I bought it because they had some kind of weld feature so you can weld doors to keep the zombies out, but it's such a stupid part of the game.

DougClayton4231 | Is Killing Floor really that bad? I never tried it due to the fact that it looked like a game from 2005. My only issue with steam is when games magically become "unavailable" at random. I want to play HL2 goddamn it!

Fathom Zero | It uses whatever Unreal Engine that 2004 used, so I could only assume it is dated.

Microshock | I played Killing Floor with all my friends, and we shortly stopped playing after that. I don't think it's a good game, plus it looks outdated

Dr. Boogie | I do because the opt-out hasn't worked for me in the past, and also because when I say that a patch Steam forces you to download can break a game, I'm speaking from personal experience.

Fathom Zero | The onus is on the developer to make the patch work right, otherwise, if it's Valve's fault, Steam updates itself regularly enough anyway to be annoying to me.

For non-multiplayer games there should probably be an opt-out button, but who really gives a shit? |

I don't really sell any of the games I own, but it's nice being able to buy used copies when the original isn't on sale. If they would implement a way for people to sell their licenses for games for however much they wanted to charge, that would be a step in the right direction. But what I'd really like is for them to make it so that you don't have to check in with Steam/automatically download new patches when you're playing a game offline. As I've said before, not every new patch is a step in the right direction. |

PS PROTIPZ: Open Steam, click the My games tab, then simply right click the Killing Floor icon, and finally choose DELETE LOCAL CONTENT. |

If you got that butt hurt over a game that cost $14.99 for weeks then I don't know what to tell you man. |

yeah, i can't recommend steam for ISDN users DIRECTOR'S CUT: or just burn the appropriate steamapps folder to a DVD if you'd rather have a disc OR: do the same thing over your network and install about 10 copies of a game at once without queering around with dvd drives |

Tadao | I think you pay for a faster internet connection than I do. To reinstall COD W@W has taken the better part of a day from steam.

Steam is great. My preference generally goes like this: 1. Steam 2. Piracy 3. Retail Steam is just way too convenient and fast, and retail is too cumbersome and up its own ass with anti-piracy shit. I also really appreciate that I can just delete games to save HD space or reformat and just get them again in a few minutes later. Or that I can go to a friend's house and let him demo a game on my account. Or share an account with a few friends for single-player games. OH NO I HAVE TO START STEAM TO PLAY GAMES I MEAN I ALSO RUN ABOUT 1,000 OTHER SERVICES BUT STEAM HAS THE DECENCY TO SHOW UP IN MY SYS TRAY AND THAT MAKES MY GAY SELF ANGRY GUYS STEAM IS USING 40 MEGS OF RAM RIGHT NOW THAT IS 40 MEGS I WILL NEVER GET BACK OUT OF MY 4,000 I MEAN MY IM CLIENT USES TWICE AS MUCH, BUT I AM ON THE INTERNET AND I HAVE OBNOXIOUS UNINFORMED OPINIONS FOR YOU TO HEAR WHY CAN'T I SELL MY DOWNLOADED GAMES THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS LET ME GET MY RIGHTFUL $2.50 + SHIPPING YOU NAGGERS |

Killing Floor is a pile of garbage, and you know what I can do with it now? Nothing. It sits there, I can't even "hide" it off the games list. I know impulse is better, and that they're trying to find a way to let you sell games. If they do that, and let you trade it around, then wow that'd be great |

Tadao | I read that before and it instantly reminded me of Quake 3. How do they know who has the legit account? I hope it's not because games are registered with a series of unobtainable numbers and letters. That didn't work for Id when people made keygens and a ton of people who actually bought the game ould no longer play it. It became a real big mess.

Tadao | Yeah, that's Docs point I think. They have made it too unfriendly to the point were no one wants to buy a new more pricey game from them any more.

Fathom Zero | I buy shit from them when it's on sale and maybe some little one-off indie games that I couldn't give a fuck about after I play them once, anyway.
