No, that's the one. I didn't know it was out yet though. Good to see the Coreys still getting work. I guess.

J. Tithonus Pednaud I think a green-lit remake would be highly, highly unlikely. The original film just wasn't popular enough...jeeze, it took 25 years for the original to get a DVD release.

The only possible plus would be the fact that the remake rights are owned by Universal, so if there was a remake the monsters may appear in their traditionally recognized costumes.

It would be awesome to see the Karloff-Frankentein, Chapman-Gillman and the classic wolfman on the prowl.

But ya, if the vastly popular Goonies can't get a sequel...what chance of this getting made.

pac-man For the longest time I thought I was like one of five people who even knew about Monster Squad. Anyway, it's still a relatively obscure 80's movie to remake. Why no Goonies: All Grow'd Up? I thought they were trying to make that happen a couple years back?

argonath This just makes me sad. Another cherished childhood memory I thought was safe is about to get beaten with Hollywood's Big Stick of Mediocrity.

Terrible news the guy that made xXx and Stealth is re-making one of my favorite movies as a kid.
