mburbank That's a really good argument for rounding up just about any group of people.

Bombs. You risk me liking you with the theory that Lott was targeted for his memberahip in the Singing Senators. I'd have gone for Orin hatch first, though. I think of him as the front man.

Anonymous yeah read about this a few days ago. He went onto say it was a good idea because there were most certainly japanese americans wanting to harm the us, just as today there are most certainly arab americans wanting to harm the us.

BombsBurstingInAir Simple. He is a lowly congressman.

Lott sang with those other senators in that group The Singing Senators I think?? And the media has always hated senate music groups.

mburbank So riddle me this, Batmen and Women... The Trent Lott thing was HUGE news and he had to resign over it; How come this isn't making the papers at all? It was a WIRE story for one damn day, AND he hasn't apologized, in fact he STANDS BEHIND his comment! We paid reparations over Interment camps! REAGAN signed the bill! So how come saying they were a great idea is okay?

ItalianStereotype unfortunately, most of the nutbags on the right are the loudest and most widely heard. this SHOULDNT reflect on the right in general, if you think it should, you are just as ignorant as the congressman.

punkgrrrlie10 I think we should have internment camps for republicans.

MrAdventure Sounds to me like he's fine with purchasing all his fireworks, cigarettes and pornography from rednecks, latinos, and indians.

Not a whole lot to feel about this besides pure shock and the jaw-dropping vacuum his common sense created when it died.

As much as he'd love to defend his values, he's going to have an even tougher time trying to justify representing thousands upon thousands that probably endorse different race related tragedies altogether.

mburbank He's already being questioned about it, and he stnds by what he said. He sdays it was primarily for the protection of Japanese Americans. Forcible relocation and siezure of property as protection. Yeah.

Here's the capper. He's the chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security. Isn't that nice?

george yes. i think this is worse than the lott nonsense.

i identify my politics with the right because they tend to be more for states rights, and less government.

and that is where it stops. but this is the sort of ignorant shit that justifies dumbasses like jersyboy.

i am very upset about this.
Feb 6th, 2003 03:39 PM
mburbank What, you mean since Trent Lott sugested things would be better for our country had a segregationist won the Presidency?

These are gaffs only in the sense the far right, the radical right, doesn't mean to say it out loud when a microphone is on. This is what they think.
Feb 6th, 2003 03:36 PM
george this guy should be forced to resign. seriously, if this is not taken out of context in some way, this is the worst, most racist, most ignorant thing i have heard out of a politician in a long time.

he has no place leading people.
Feb 6th, 2003 03:34 PM
FS Holy shit. What a blunder.
Feb 6th, 2003 03:33 PM
mburbank It's nauseating. I hope strongly that this is a gaff; ie, this jerk really does think this, but it's just his personal blurted opinion.

The other possability is far more ugly; that this is test balloon to see just how strong the reaction is.

Do you suppose any pol out there has the stones to say the House Unamerican Activities commity was good idea, it just got a wee bit carried away?
Feb 6th, 2003 03:29 PM
george and so the worst form of ignorance rears it's ugly head.

i would rather everything burn and blow up then live in a country that would do such a thing.
