Emu Why buy a GCN controller? Why not just make a whole new controller that you have to buy to play old games?
Jul 5th, 2005 03:27 AM
Mike P The Revolution is going to be able to play NES, SNES, and N64 games. Unless Nintendo plans on having players use the GameCube controller to play these, the Revolution will have to have an A button, B button, R and L buttons, an analog control stick and a control pad, s Z button, and buttons to match the four C buttons. Ah, and a start and select button. Of course, Nintendo could just re-program all the games to make them work with a new controller, but it would cost less to make a default controller for the Revolution.

I really wouldn't put it past Nintendo to make players buy a GCN controller to play the old games, though.

domoarigato Theres rumors that the controller will also have touch screen or will cure cancer, but i'm pretty sure its only the touch screen part that is real.

McClain It's gasoline powered?
It's got a laser beam?
It plays MP3's?
You can put your weed in there?
It's actually just a leftover NES controller?
It's a SUPERJOY 4000?
The controller has AI?
It looks like genitals?
It's solar powered?
It has 46 buttons?
It responds to voice commands?
There IS NO controller, the games are controlled by your mind?
The controller looks like a pair of scissors?

JUST TELL US ALREADY!

Shigeru Miyamoto: [Laughs] You're doubting me, aren't you? I can see that you're over there mistrusting my word. I understand. [Laughs]

Of course. It's set in stone. It has been determined. I'd love to show it to you. I'd love to be able to show you the features of the Revolution controller and tell you about them. However, unfortunately if we do that too early those ideas would be stolen. We know that from past history. Analog stick. Boom - gone. Rumble Pak. We bring it out and everybody has to have rumble. We got the wireless out first and now there's wireless everywhere. So we have to keep it under wraps.
FUCK

rockets redglare IGN just put up a new interview with Miyamoto. At first glance it doesn't seem too informative though

I was being sarcastic, but I forgot to put the laughy face to show that it was all in fun.
May 18th, 2005 03:18 PM
McClain Perhaps it's a special Nintendo-endorsed controller project for a paraplegic?
May 18th, 2005 01:28 PM
Emu That's what I was saying. Nintendo wouldn't put the control stick on the right.

Problem being that the R and L buttons would be reversed.

Inside, the system will feature 512MB of onboard flash memory, and feature SD memory card slots for expandability

And I would just like to add that I also saw no problems with the gamecube controller's design

Every single PS2 owner who didn't buy a DVD player, but then watched in horror as the Disc Read Error slowly consumed their PS2.

So I need a new DVD player and a new PS2. Brilliant marketing on their part, IMO.

I meant where are you downloading the games TO.

And the PS3 can be placed vertically or horizontally. So if you don't like systems that stand upright, the PS3 is for j00!

Don't give Reggie too much credit. He tells it like it is, but with a sugar-coated promise of good things. Like a doctor who uses a hand puppet to tell a kid their parents drowned in a fire.

bigtimecow well, it may be real, but maybe a special controller for flying games or something. like the steering wheel for racing games.

but either way it sucks.
May 17th, 2005 09:00 PM
Emu Nintendo wouldn't render their controller in a 3D modelling program. They'd whip out the real thing and beat you with it.
