Fathom Zero | You can only use USB drives for music and movies, which is good because I don't want to burn one song off a CD to use it while I'm playing.

It's really true, guys. The 360's do not overheat or break at all. The 3 red rings are simply to inform the user that the console has become to filthy to operate. You send it in, and they clean it. The rings just tell you when it needs to go to the cleaners, because unlike clothes you won't be able to see the hypothetical cranberry juice stain! Not only do they polish it up, they usually send it back with a free gift! Now that's service! |

How exactly does Microsoft release a Halo 3 version of the 360 and not include Halo 3? That said, I am a casual gamer and don't really tax my system. I might buy 3 games a year. I have the 20 Gig system and that seems to suit me just fine. I have downloaded a couple demos from Xbox Live, but you can delete them if you grow tired of them. How about a USB hard drive. Can you connect those to the 360? I'm not at ho9me right now and haven't tried it out. |

Emu | So is there any proof of this Falcon model yet?

One, the original. I and my brothers got the other two on consecutive Christmases. And I enjoy a good game of High-Stakes Perfection. |

Great! Let's not give the manufactures any liability because we should want to "play these games enough". It makes the games more exciting I guess. Now you are playing against the clock of your own system melting down. It's like a 400 dollar game of Perfection. Quote:

What I thought you meant was, "Why should I fix the problem when I have a warranty? PSSHAW." Oh well, I'm happy and that's all I really care about, not persuading people who really never cared and probably never will. I'd be willing to wager that if someone's Wii, PS3, PS2, Xbox, or Jaguar broke tomorrow, no one would care. They'd chalk it up to their own misuse or "natural causes." Okay, that was a bit of a rant. I bought three Playstation 2's because the disc drive kept fucking up on me. This isn't a question of hardware, it's a question of "Do I want to play these games enough?" If you don't, well then you can wait four or five years down the road when they release a slim 360. |

What shouldn't matter? The fact that your system melts itself and forces you to send it in for repairs? BRILLIANT DEDUCTION, I ALSO DON'T MIND AT ALL WHEN MY SHIT BREAKS AND I GET TO PLAY WITH A STRANGER'S REFURBISHED BOX, IT'S LIKE NOOB3 SAID MAN IT'S JUST ROOM SERVICE FOR YOUR 360 AND SIMPLY KNOWING THE QUALITY TREATMENT IT'S GETTING IS ENOUGH FOR ME! So, yes, in all seriousness, it is RIDICULOUS that I should be expected to 'fix' to 'send in for repair' a $400-450 piece of electronics that I just bought new. THEREFORE, I will not buy a system until they fix the problems PRIOR to me receiving one. |

Fathom Zero | Well then it shouldn't matter until the three years is up.

http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/14321/...ing-This-Fall/ I agree with Emu, I was excited for the Halo3 360, but I saw one the other day and they look like snot plated. |

Emu | Those Halo 360s are ass ugly.

Yeah I guess as long as they have a 3 year warranty people are ok with their shit having a chance of heating up and breaking after a week or so of play. Enjoy the shipping costs and 2 week spans of no xbox. Like I said, new processor, smaller gpu. Whatever the fuck it takes, when they fix the heating issues i'll buy it. ;P |

What? How? Do you perform a COMBO BREAKER after the first two rings light up? |

ArrowX | I'm becoming more interested in these 360 "falcons" that are reported to be released around Christmas, with the fixed heat sink problem, and a standard HDMI port for the same as the current regular consoles.

noob3 | so it's reccomended, even with a 720p tv it'd be good to buy hdmi cables? just curious, i have a reg 360
Sep 23rd, 2007 05:47 PM | ||
HickMan | The difference is immense. I'm used to the HDMI look. Even though I have a 720p and it's formatted for 1080i, it looks much crisper.

Dr. Boogie | Does HDMI look much better than component?
Sep 23rd, 2007 04:29 PM | ||
HickMan | It means your console completely died. Done. But microsoft has a 3 year warranty for all red rings. So I'm not too worried about it. It's just a hassle. I got an elite because I had the spare cash and it has hdmi capabilities.

Emu | What's the red ring mean?
Sep 23rd, 2007 02:28 PM | ||
darkvare | get a 20 gigs is all good and the red rings are kinda lame but fixable

Enjoy it and the fact that there's a three year warranty and the problem is easy to fix before your xbox breaks! Seriously, all you need is the 20 gig model. Most of the downloadable games are around 100 MB anyway. |

If your going to download a lot of stuff of the Xbox live marketplace try and grab a 120 GB hard drive. If not the 20GB is more than enough, but most games require a couple hundred MB for downloadable content like new maps and missions etc. Also if its possible wait until the 360 "Falcon" models are out, they are supposed to have none of the problems the current ones have. EDIT: keep in mind that Xbox live's operating system and dashboard take up about 2GB so your only really getting about 18GB |

Emu | Same here, but I've got a PS2 and a Gamecube and that's enough to satisfy me since the PS3 sucks and I have nowhere to put a Wii. But I've never owned an XBox so yeah
