zeldasbiggestfan Schimid were you talking about the folks crying in the movie or in the theatre?

CAUSE I HAD TO DEAL WITH BOTH.

Fucking pussies.

Hey I heard Tobey Maguire isnt going to be in Spiderman 4. Dunno if its true or not. I might've even heard it on here.

Protoclown I've always laughed my ass off at the American flag thing too, in all of the movies.

sloppy, slobbery cry-fest
this has been my main gripe about this whole movie franchise WAHH WAHH SPIDEY MAN'S TOO BUSY CRYIN' TO SAY SNAPPY ONE-LINERS FOLKS SORRY ;_;

AChimp I think they made this movie suck just enough that people won't be eager to see another sloppy, slobbery cry-fest for a very long time. This leaves the actors and director off the hook.

Girl Drink Drunk How about that.

Anyways, did that Spider-Man dance remind anyone else of that scene in Magical Mystery Store where the Beatles swagger down that staircase, in unison, to "Your Mother Should Know"?

Grislygus They pulled the flag crap in the other movies too, guys.
May 13th, 2007 05:55 PM
Zomboid Yeah, my friends and I noticed that flag thing too. Really fucking cheesy. I wonder if it's one of those things that you don't notice unless you're not American.
May 13th, 2007 04:59 PM
Girl Drink Drunk wow. That was a lot better than I had expected (prolly cause of my low expectations). It certainly wasnt as good as the last two, but it was fucking entertaining from start to finish. There a lot of those "WTF" and over-the-top moments, but I thought they were hilarious (the whole Peter Parker dance and the american flag part).

Schimid I got annoyed with EVERYONE ALWAYS CRYING. I SWEAR TO GOD. PEOPLE CRIED ALL THE TIME. CRYING, CRYING, CRYING.

I wanted Venom to be bigger. I don't read the comics, but in MvC2 Venom was a BAD motherfucker, and apparently is a big enough guy on his own, the symbiote just feeds off that. Maybe I'm wrong, but I never thought of Venom as a snarky, sarcastic little fuck. I also got really annoyed when he used "I" instead of "we" as a pronoun. The guy that played Sandman could'a made a good Venom, in my opinion.

Spidey with eyeliner was ridiculous. RIDICULOUS.

I thought a few parts were actually really funny, like the pill scene with Jameson.

I thought it was alright, but the constant sobbing and weeping really got to me by the end, I wanted Venom to be a badass and not just some punk kid, and the first fight (between Peter and Harry) is disproportionately awesome to the rest of the fight scenes.

However, the sand scenes were incredible.

Seven Force I think it was always some random guy that killed Ben in the comics, and in the first movie that's how it supposedly went down. That of course was tossed out to shoehorn in the Sandman like Protoclown said.
May 7th, 2007 01:36 PM
Protoclown Are you asking if Sandman killed Uncle Ben in the comics? No, they just totally shat that out for this movie to try to make people more interested in Sandman. It didn't work.
May 7th, 2007 01:22 PM
noob3 First of all, I LOVED the Hulk. I saw it the first day it came out, and I was fucking DROOLING during almost every fight! I mean who else wasn't when he was FIGHTING THE TANKS/HELICOPTERS? Very good movie! PLUS Jennifer Connely is SMOKING HOT

Does anyone know (PROTO/SEVEN I AM LOOKING AT YOU) if Sandman ACTUALLY killed Uncle Ben or did they just shit that out into the plot? It seemed really forced and well, pretty awful.

darkvare i liked it i was kinda cool except for the sandman bit at the end. and about the venom thing i know comics tell you everything but kids dont read thesse days so they have to explain it. pesonally ihope the next one is more violent and mature
May 7th, 2007 11:10 AM
Grislygus Despite my misgivings, I liked Venom, and REALLY would have liked to see a helluva lot more of him.

I remember you saying that he didn't have enough character development to carry a whole movie. Now I've never read a comic in my life, but it seems like they could have EASILY dug up enough on him to do away with the Sandman.

Protoclown DING DING! We have a winner!
May 7th, 2007 11:00 AM
Grislygus By PARTS I imagine you refer to the gigantic, blubbery teen drama force-fed into it.
May 7th, 2007 01:02 AM
Protoclown I am also one of the few who enjoyed the Hulk movie, Pednaud.

And that's good advice from Seven Force, but I think it's fairly reasonable to base one's expectations on the prior movies in the franchise. I didn't hate the whole movie so much as I hated PARTS of the movie, but in the end I didn't feel like this even began to compare to the first two.
May 7th, 2007 12:13 AM
J. Tithonus Pednaud Nail on the head there Seven, good advice for all films. Don't get too excited.
May 6th, 2007 11:44 PM
Seven Force Well see that's the way you should go see a film. If you have too high expectations for anything you're more likely to be real disappointed by whatever they have. And comparing a book to a movie is not fair, especially if the story spans like a lot of fucking books.
May 6th, 2007 11:06 PM
Girl Drink Drunk My expectations have been lowered direly
May 6th, 2007 11:00 PM
J. Tithonus Pednaud I actually enjoyed it. It has all the problems mentioned by protoclown, but I was entertained for my $10, and at the end of the day that's all that matters. Was it a masterpiece? No. Best of the series? Hell no, I prefer the first one. But it was interesting enough. I had zero expectations going in, not being a big Spidey-Fan, so that may have something to do with it. I prefer storyline driven comic book films.

Hell, I am one of the few who really liked the Hulk movie.

Grislygus BEWARE OF THE BLOB IT SEEPS, IT CREEPS, IT SLIDES AND GLIDES ACROSS THE FLOOR. UNDER. THE DOOR. BE WARY OF THE BLOB. A SPLOTCH, A BLOTCH. BE CAREFUL OF THE BLOB. *pop*

All other characters need to take up the violin. On their wrists, with a razor. Other than that, I liked it.
