My middle name was mentioned before, I think. It's Paul ( after Paul McCarteny and the pope ). That is a cool name meaning come to think of it :o

Yep.

Xenia means "hospitality" or "guest" in Greek. Xena is listed as a variant. Xena and Xenia could also be derived from the Greek word Xenos, meaning "foreigner" or "stranger".
Phillip is from the Greek name Philippos, which means "Friend of horses" (philos meaning friend and hippos meaning horse)
Shane is an Anglicized form of Sean, which is the Irish form of John.

Jun 24th, 2003 02:33 PM
Zosimus Jeanette, what does Xenia and Phillip mean, (I been told there is some relation to Xena)?
Jun 24th, 2003 01:34 PM
timrpgland I've heard my name means "honouring God"

From the Greek word timan "to honour" and theos "god."

Then my last name is Son of William... YAY

"Humble carpenter"...like Jesus, I guess.

Nelson is from an English surname meaning "Son of Neil". Neil is from the Gaelic name Niall, which may mean either "champion" or "cloud".
Jun 24th, 2003 02:01 AM
Sam How about Nelson?

pjalne It means you can move to pretty much every country in the world, and your name will still look normal to the natives.

Rongi My mum named me after John Lenon :o. And my middle name is Paul :o. She told me something about my name being universal...what the hell does that mean o.O

Jeanette X I love you guys too.
Stephen: From the Greek Stephanos, meaning crown.
Paul: from the Roman family name "Paulus", which means "small" or "humble" in Latin.
Zane: One of my sources says it is a Danish surname of unknown meaning, another says that it is another version of Yochanan (see first post).

That's actually pretty much dead on, 'bonde' is Scandinavian for 'farmer'. Or maybe there's a different word for farmer in Sweden?

My name's Per Arne, and I'm pretty sure it means Cliff/Rock Eagle. Per is a short version of Peder/Peter (biblical), and Arne is Norse.

I knew this Croatian-Norwegian-American guy called Vinko Sindelar. Apparently, it means 'king of the hill'.

Jeanette X Malcolm comes from the Scottish words Mael Coluim, which mean "Disciple of St. Columba". Columba means "dove" in late Roman.
Jun 22nd, 2003 12:39 AM
The Retro Kat Do what it says Malcolm means, please.
