Immortal Goat | There was a reason the ten commandments were taken down. There were people (I wasn't one of them, but whatever) that said that they had no business in a place of law, seeing as how they are a religious symbol. HOWEVER, I do not believe that the catholics had any right to sue them over the statue. It is their property, their sculpture, they can do whatever they want with it. I don't care if it was a sculpture of the pope getting a blowjob from an altar boy, they had every right to display it however they want. After reading this article, I think the title for the statue was VERY fitting.

And there are plenty of athethists in the government. They are just all unelected judges. I meant to have this edited into the first post but whatever. |

I think they are just trying to make the point that if a statue like the Ten Commandments is taken down then shouldn't a statue which is anti-relgious be taken down also? Funny because if this was a ststue of the Ten Commandments I bet a ton of people on this board would be howling in anger. I personally have no problem with this statue or with one of the Ten Commandments. |

Emu | Of course there's no protection for Christians. Because "protection" would mean unprotecting all the non-Christians.

"Apparently, the religion clauses protect atheists but afford no comparable protection for Christians. This disturbing trend in our federal courts must be reversed." I think this is shit, because there are no Atheists in the government to begin with. Fucking hell forbid someone is elected to an office that doesn't once invoke god's name in some form or fashion. Hell I think the FCC's change of heart and fining of TV and radio is fuled by the close minded "christians" that permeate this countries citizenry. I would say "christians" have more then enough pull in the USA. I am not for or against someone that is driven to believe in a higher power to get out of bed in the morning, but I am not one of them. That quote pissed me off more then the entire piece of dreck. It reminds me of "christians" that will yell and basically prove there mania over something like abortion because it's "wrong" yet take no steps to actually educate there children to avoid one instead of just putting up with Missy Jo when she get's knocked up and the father won't have anything to do with her after that. |
