Sam We definitely won't just play MvC or Street Fighter, I've been planning on a Samurai Showdown 4 tounry or one for King of Fighters, I just don't know which KoF is the most preferred.

GADZOOKS What a turnout!

So anyways, until me and Sam can figure out events we can do and set up some kind of server to put all the files we use on. We decided to just start off by doing an MvC Singles Tournament.

Now before we all get up in arms about diffrent games, those can go for a diffrent time, Marvel Vs. Capcom is a rom most everyone has or has played before, for a starting tournmanet to get back into the groove of things. We will do this in a tournament of 8 (OR if possible 16) Give me a PM if you want to do it, First Come, First Serve. We probably will need a few people just in case there are backouts. Just PM me that you are in, some form of way we can contact you about figuring out a tournament time, and a desired character.

What I mean by desired character is the leading character you would choose in the game, you can pick any tag partner in the game but your desired stays the same throughout. It is a best 2 out of 3 rounds thing.

BTW- Do not ask to be Ryu or Captain America, Me and sam already took them.

I don't know if it's different for MAME roms than it is for NES roms, but I'm pretty sure you don't need to vote - just choose to download the zip file to your computer instead of opening it from location.

Schimid I don't know if I'll come back or not. I completely erased every trace of MAME from my computer.

Check the new SN at the bottom if you wanna get in touch, yo.

whoreable i need to get this version on my arcade machine, then i will challenge someone to a bit of fantasia 2!

Captain Goodtimes Mowler, it's pretty simple.

What you first need to do is download this program:
http://www.nullsoft.com/free/kailler...7-414-ka09.exe

Mame 32k, after you install it you will find it in your Program Files folder in your C: Drive.

As for roms, the only ones that we can find are dealt out at http://www.romnation.net. Roms are the actual arcade games, while MAME emulates them (which shows it and lets you play it, as well as play multiplayer with it)

On romnation's page click on the Roms link on the sidebar, it will then read out a disclaimer scroll down and click "continue to our Roms Section" Then a list of systems will show up, you'll want Mame. Then it will show all the games they have for mame in A-Z order. Now when you pick the rom, it will ask you to vote and show 2 buttons. It's a stupid thing but you must do it or else the files do not work, follow the directions and then download it.

When you get the rom it will be in zip form, take the zip file to the Mame32k folder in the program files folder on your C: drive. Now you put it in the roms folder. Then open up Mame, then you go to file and audit all games then it will make sure your rom file is correct and working. It will tell you if anythings missing. Then close the Mame program and reopen it, you should find your roms in the avaliable folder in the Mame Program. Then you can just go there and open it. After it's all loaded and the game is playing press TAB, then you can edit your game controls. There you go.

Drev you play arcade games on your computer. :/

FartinMowler I'm bored so I looked it up...On December 24th, 1996, Nicola Salmoria began working on his single hardware emulators (for example Multi-Pac), which he merged into one program during January 1997. He named the accomplishment by the name of Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator, or MAME for short (pronounced as the word 'maim' in English, other languages may differ).
The first official release was MAME 0.1, which was released on the evening of February 5th, 1997 (23:32 +0100). Using a modular and portable driver oriented architecture with an open source philosophy, it soon grew into immense proportions. The current version supports 5145 ROM sets, 2901 unique games. Because MAME releases happen whenever they are ready, at one point the wait between new versions was almost 4 months. To help the agony of the users, a public beta system was used, with a beta release happening every 2-3 weeks on an average. However, now the beta designation has been removed in favor of a good old 0.xx version number. Also a work-in-progress -page exists, if you really want to know the latest information.

Even though MAME allows people to enjoy the long-lost arcade games and even some newer ones, the main purpose of the project is to document the hardware (and software) of the arcade games. There are already many dead arcade boards, whose function has been brought to life in MAME. Being able to play the games is just a nice side-effect. The huge success of MAME would not be possible without the talent of the programmers who joined to form the MAME team. At the moment, there are about 100 people on the team, but there is a large number of contributors outside the team too. Nicola Salmoria is still the coordinator of the project.

So what do you do? I don't get it :/
