kahljorn Actually, complex sugars are good for you... it's simple and refined sugars that are bad. See my post in the food forum under dieting crazyness for more information. COMPLEX SUGARS metabolize in a way that's very good for you because it takes longer and there's a lot more usable parts. I think all the parts are usable by the body, whereas with simple and refined sugars you only get a few parts sugar and some leftovers that can't be used.
Although I don't know if I agree with this, I've heard it's better to eat large healthy meals. Especially if you're largest/heaviest healthy meal is for lunch; the digestive process is supposed to work best at noon because of the biological clock deal (that's supposed to be our most active time of the day). A good example of a large healthy meal would be something with a lot of rice, vegetables and beans.
The only problem is that people in america act like fat is bad, when really fat is actually good and very important for protecting the body/keeping it healthy. The problem with it is when it gets extreme - but that's obvious. If you're healthy and a little bit fat it's actually GOOD for you to be a little fat.

American milk actually isn't that good for you anymore because it's pastuerized and all this shit. Milk raises fertility :O i just learned that!

Actually you don't lose the nutrients when you steam vegetables, the nutrients just go into the water. So if you can find a way to use the water you can still get lots of nutrients, or if you cook them in some type of sauce.
Potatoes have the best nutritional value of nearly any vegetable.

the best justification I can think of for eatting meals at lunch is by observing people who work "Graveyard shifts". It's called graveyard for a reason, and that's because it's supposed to be one of the worst hours to work health-wise. So, logically, the body is supposed to be doing certain things at certain times, and when it's not it causes health problems.

Supafly345 You're probably taking one of the stimulant one's. They increase your blood sugar, making you less hungry. Its good stuff.

Jeff The Ninja You could. Milk is extremely good for you. But i would opt for a good glass of orange juice. We dont eat nearly enough vegetables. Think about it, in north america, we eat more bread and meat per day then we do in fruits and vegetables. And the vegetables we do eat are usally cooked in a way that they lose all the nutrients (Boiling vegetables takes away most of the nutritional value).

I say that its not only what you eat, its how its cooked. French Fries can be healthy (Or as healthy as french fries can possibly be) if you cook them in a low fat oil and Cut the potatoes yourself into big slices (try about the size of your ring finger). Then they get cooked and retain most of the nutrients. Its about healthy eating.

What I meant was, you're supposed to eat something, be it a deluxe BLT or an orange.

No and yes. You are suppose to eat every 3 hours for your metabolism/body, but portion control is pretty important as well as what it is you're eating. Eating right and enough times a day is key to weight loss/muscle growth.

Thus you can't just kill a 12 piece dark with a side of dirty rice every 3 hours obviously. You want to make sure that you are eating good things(with somewhat of a balance) in moderately sized portions. I'm not saying only eat tree leaves and dried cereal every 3 hours to watch your weight, just stay away from huge portions and complex sugars/high fructose corn syrup/fried foods/anything delicious.

You don't have to be "shredded" or anything like that to be in shape. Actually, you should be eating about 5-7 times a day bro! When you are hungry, eat a fucking snack! I know a guy who is in my class that is about your size and can lift hella more weight, kick my ass blindfolded, and yet he isn't by any means "fat." What you eat however is really the key though, but I'm sure most people (including you I'm sure) with half a brain can understand this.

I agree on the idea of it being the individual's fault and not the fast food place's fault. It is rather silly to accuse KFC for your size/health problems when you're eating there on a daily basis. Besides, Popeye's chicken kills KFC

Jeff The Ninja Im pretty big myself (5'10, 260lbs) but i can defend that by saying that im pretty athletic, i work out and i play a lot of contact sports like football and rugby.

Despite that, i know i have a problem. And i used to be a lot bigger (at one time topping 240lbs at 5'4 :o) and i have lost a lot of weight and packed on some muscle. But the people who piss me off are those who claim to be dieting and that "Ive tried everything i can to lose weight" and immediatly go for sevenths at the damn buffet. The way i learned to control myself is that I chew a stick of gum whenever i feel the need to snack on something, and to drink lost of water, it keeps you full.

zeldasbiggestfan Go for it. Its easier to type. But yeah they checked me for it 2 days ago and they said Im 12 percent body fat. I dont how they got that number but thats what they said. When I was in wrestling I was 14 percent which was about 4 months ago. Since then Ive been taking fat burners and have been trying to work out monday through friday and not on the weekend. Its really kind of nice.

I doubt you are just 12 percent body fat. That would mean you clearly have visible abs and such. You are probably closer to 20% or 22%.
Sorry I'm a fag and I work out and learn sometimes in college and actually wanted to help you out so you don't say that to anyone else and look foolish but I don't know because if you used some type of machine that tells you your body fat it could be cheap and highly inaccurate so it may not be all your fault after all cause all i'm sayin is i'm 5 inches taller than you and weigh 5 1/2 more pounds so it just left me scratching my head Zelda is it ok if I call you Zelda?

zeldasbiggestfan I got weighed today and Im 169 1/2 and 5' 6" and 12 percent body fat. Im a fatty but Ive been fucking loosing the fat unlike about 3/4s of the fuckers at school. We actually got new desks because about three people got stuck in their desks and had to be sawed out because theyre so fat. Fuck its really sad as to how big America is and how theres hardly anyone whos really actually average on the street anymore. Its really sad.
