Glad to see The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy was already mentioned. That book kicks the Bible's ass anyday! Anyway, I didn't see 1984 put down yet and I thought it was good... allthough it's been a while since I read it. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance was okay... still I got bored halfway through... gotta finish it sometime maybe. |

Zbu Manowar | Well, if this thread is still about good reads, I can't recommend Logan's Run and the Buckaroo Banzai novels highly enough. Trust me, they're much different then the movies they're based on and they're pretty damn good fun reads for a rainy day.

Systemz | At the risk or dorking out even harder than normal, I'm putting my vote in for "Sophie's World" by Jostein Gaardner. It's a novel on the history of philosophy, and if you grew up (like me) in a post-modern suburban nightmare this book reads like a fairy tale on acid. Best of all, it's written by a norwegian - what else you gotta ask for?
