KevinTheOmnivore Kucinich is already as good as done, so he can't even count. Dean, like you said Max, pays more lip service than anthing else. Politicians from Vermont are odd.

Although I oppose Dean on his stance on the death penalty (he's supposedly in favor of it), I still se myself having a tough time choosing between him and (presumably) Nader. I won't rule out checking the platform of the Libertarian who runs, either.

mburbank Good one, Vinth! Tell you what, I'll vote commie and you vote for whoever the Really, Really Stupid Party runs and we'll both have made ecellent jokes!
May 8th, 2003 12:09 PM
VinceZeb Maxipad, I have a better idea. You could just vote for who you really want to vote for. So put down that vote for the Communist Party, maxipad. Don't be afraid!

ranxer haha maybe trust was the wrong word.

i think there's more than a few people who have given up on
'lesser of two evils' . if dean or worse gets the ticket i hope to see people quit the dems to join the protest vote or third party campaigns

but, if the dems pick kucinich or sharpton i'm registering with them
and giving 110%

mburbank Do I trust him? Absolutely not. I don't think I'd find anyone capable of being elected to a major office trustworthy in todays political climate.

Kucinich seem the most trustworthy to me, as far as that goes, and if he makes it to the Massachusetts primary I'll vote for him. Unfortunately, I don't see him going much further than that. Dean pays lip service to more of my issues than other candidates, and lip service sometimes translates into actions by a sort of lackluster osmossis.

Frankly, I cannot think of a single existing political figure I could get excited about. I think whoever the Democratic candidate turns out to be, energizing a vocal, articulate campaign is vital. Win or loose, if the opposition does not define itself, it's voice and it's rights I think we could all be in a great deal of trouble. So I'll swallow my bile and work for whichever one of these folks makes it through. But GOD I wish ONE DAMN TIME I could go to the polls with something other thann the lesser of two evils in mind.

ranxer yea well that's not a very funny joke for several reasons..
first of which if the murderous warcriminal bush died by means of a pretzel the mad puppeteers wouldnt miss a beat.. so it wouldnt make any difference.

seriously though.. burb, you trust dean?
ive heard from several places that he's pretty lax on corporations.. and seems like a sellout to me.

Quote:
"Dean's attempts to run for president as an environmentalist is nothing but a fraud," Smith told Wild Matters. "He's destroyed the Agency of Natural Resources, he's refused to meet with environmentalists while constantly meeting with the development community, and he's made the permitting process one, big dysfunctional joke."

sounds like a republican with a few democrat issues
maybe i'm wrong, i'd like to know.
May 8th, 2003 11:50 AM
mburbank I can't prove it, but if W had died choking on a pretzel, I don't think I'd be making fun of it at all. Aside from it being in poor taste, Chenney would have become president.

No, I laugh at the fact that the most powerful person on the planet was ALMOST brought down by a lowly Preztel. If you believe in the Lone Pretzel theory. I think it's pretty clear there was a Nacho chip on the grassy knoll.

Of course there might be another explanation. I'd say the vast majority of folks who pass out and bash their faces against a coffee tables while watching football were hoisting a few too many...

BAGS OF MICROWAVE POPCORN.

Cause Popcorn? THAT shit will stick in your throat.

VinceZeb Ranxer, it's real sweet that you would like to have seen the President die. No wonder I don't take your opinion seriously at all.
May 8th, 2003 11:25 AM
ranxer yaha, pretzels, mmm

moment of silence please for the pretzel that almost saved america
May 8th, 2003 11:06 AM
mburbank You'd be hard pressed to think like me, Vinth, as you're severely taxed by thinking at all.
May 8th, 2003 10:49 AM
VinceZeb No, I hope Al runs because he has personality. He would also make the democrats put up or shut up when it comes to the race issue. Sorry I don't think like you do, Maxipad.
May 8th, 2003 10:44 AM
mburbank "I hope Al Sharpton is the canidate."

Because he's overweight, has funny hair, and has a very questionable past which would make him laughable to you and confirm everything you think you know, which you think would rule, because it would mean you'd have to think and work less about what passes for humor with you. man, that's nice of ya Vinth.

Me? I was just saying W. enjoys pretzels so it would be a shame if they didn't have 'em just cause he choked on one once.
May 8th, 2003 10:17 AM
VinceZeb Because Bush choked on one. Man, thats nice of ya Max.
May 8th, 2003 09:57 AM
mburbank I hope the serve pretzels at the Republican convention.
May 8th, 2003 09:52 AM
VinceZeb I hope Al Sharpton is the canidate. That would rule.
May 8th, 2003 09:12 AM
mburbank I'm currently Kuccinich or Dean. I waited years for Kerry to run and then the bastard votes war authority to Bush. Even if he was for the war and he was not, I think that was a cowardly vote. It's like saying "Congress doesn't want to make that decission. It's just tooo much of a commitment one way or the other. You decide" I was deeply dissapointed.
May 7th, 2003 05:22 PM
ranxer so what about this next presidential?

i've heard of campaigns to make sure bush isn't re-selected but they don't talk much about the alternatives! what the hey do they think we are going to vote FOR? i'd love to see a ficus for president again! oh yea, it IS running again! there's hope
edit: crap its for congress:

sspadowsky I'm sorry to say, but right now, I don't think the Dems could find their collective ass with both hands and a flashlight, let alone present a serious presidential contender. I hope that changes.

ranxer ok so there are either no democrats on this board..
or what? dems are affraid to wheigh in on who they support for the candidate?

i must admit i'm not a democrat.. but i might have been if the dems hadn't sold out to big business to such an extreem.

people often take me for a democrat but that's just because they don't know much about the alternatives.. so much for an 'educated' public.

in the past i've campaigned for the greens, ross perot, and the greens in that order in the last 3 elections.. so, yes, i'm used to a protest vote and used to fighting a loosing battle.. /shrug

if the dems pick kucinich or sharpton ill convert to campaigning for them, but it's not likely.
