ranxer so, radio right(sean hannity in this case) says the unpaid will be paid(situation remidied) but they don't give any source.. is it true? i can't find anything on it.. not that big a deal but i'd like to know.. if its not true.. hah! if its true i thank the 'liberal media' for bringing it up but those employees that spoke up about losing pay are being slammed for thier 'unpatriotic' whining.. as if losing a day's pay is the least they can do to honor the presidents visit!

AChimp If Bush really wanted to make a good impression, he would do his speech while the workers were still doing shit in the background, nevermind just compensating them for a missed shift.

Of course, that's just my silly socialist Canadian point of view stemming from the fact that a lot of our politicians mingle with the people.

kellychaos Doesn't a day's lost wages pale in comparison to the shiny new "Dubya Was Here!" plaque that'll be hanging in the plant manager's office?

mburbank Vinth; There are already plenty of Tax Cut threads. This thread is about how a company is screwing it's workers and Bush is standing on the backs of workers for a photo-op.

What do you think about that?

ranxer Bwahaha! what a joke, this is typical of the bush administration.
'the people' don't matter a bit to these fuckers..

yehaw, i just love those ads on tv and radio.. '..make no payments for a full year!, blabla' haha yea, put it on credit.. the tax cut will bring jobs that'll help us pay our bills next year.

i just don't get how the administration can do stuff like this over and over again and still appear to have favorable ratings. it seems like 75percent of thier plans(afghan-iraq-nation building-security-economy etc.) were kicked out the door put together with duct tape and radiation warnings, hah 'our plan'(bush admin) solves all the problems, but don't investigate. gah

kellychaos I can see where this coroporate tax cut would really help you out, Vince. You being the big wheeler dealer coroporate leader you are ... bleh! ... whateva. :/

Protoclown Well, one thing's for sure. It sucks to be one of those workers at Airlite Plastics.

VinceZeb The intelligence level of this board is shown when you morons talk about tax cuts.

Let's talk about how much better the kellychaos tax cut would be? What, he doesn't have one because he is just a blabbering little bitch? Oh man, the suprise there!

And what about the others? Come on now, don't bitch about it, do something about it. Yin and Yang and all that shit.

sspadowsky I can't tell you how grateful I am that this is actually happening to the north of the city, so I don't have to deal with any of the security bullshit.

He's here because Senator Nelson is one of the guys resisting the tax cut. Bush should have an easy time strong-arming Nelson and getting him to buckle under, because it's a heavily Republican-leaning state. Nelson has said that he would vote for the tax cut if some federal dough would be funneled into Nebraska, because the state budget is running at a $300 million deficit.

Anyway, I'm distracting from Max's point, which I think is a great one. And I'm sure that Bush is there because he cares about the workin' folk, and Airlite has never contributed to his campaign fund.

mburbank Think what a great statement it would be if Bush refused to speak unless the company paid the workers! Or pointed out that what they're about to get in free advertising more than makes up for lost productivity!

Or didn't think he needed a 'backdrop' to make a point about his tax plan?

Ouch

That is complete and utter bullshit. Mostly the fault of the company for not caring about it's workers. However, if the Pres is really concerned about the American worker and knows about this he should back out of speaking at the company as a show of support for the workers who are about to get screwed by their company for a very unique advertising oportunity.

W. will make a speech today at Airlite Plastics Co. in Omaha, Nebraska. The company is closing for one and a half shifts to W. cna make his speech on why his Tax Cut is good for everyone.

Workers who usually work the first and second shifts can either have their pay docked or work this Saturday to make up for the lost time.

Cause, you know, you wouldn't want the company that decided to let Bush speak there pony up the kind of green 1 and 1/2 shifts worth of productivity amoiunts too. Or the Administration. It's not like anyone's THAT confident about the tax plan.
