HowardC Ferrit: Land of confusion is a political song brought back by the "super reganie" antics of our head idiot. It fits the current situation we are in and I'm sure some member of the band suggested the cover to make a political statement. I will say that the McFarlane music vid was a tad cheesy though... trying to be all awesome.... only nobody told him that the 90's are over and that type of imagery is all played out.

But the cover was quite good and I'll go so far as to say that ANYTHING genesis ever did was 100000% awesome and I'll ask you not to throw them in with "80's pop bands" especially considering genesis has been around since the 60's.

Mister Tea "Can't stand Disturbed, every song sounds exactly the same."

Name your favorite band or artist; all their stuff sounds the same, too. I don't care if someone doesn't like a certain band, but at least try to come up with a legitimate reason.

Nick Disturbed covers are never better than the originals.

Kitsunexus I like the Richard Cheese cover better than the original, because:

1. I like jazz.
2. I like covers.
3. I hate Disturbed.
4. I hate screamo in general.

Autrach Sejanoz The rant in Down With The Sickness used to freak me out, too. And yes, the Richard Cheese cover is fantastic.

Pity that every album they've made since this one has gotten worse and worse (and they lost me after Believe).

Ferrit I liked the album - and I liked Disturbed - I agree that Sickness offered a lot more than just a couple of (edited for) radio singles. But covering Tears for Fears? Then following up with Genesis' Land of Confusion on 10,000 Fists? They lost me. Just can't get behind 80's pop tunes even when thrashed out.

XtinaxFan Finally someone calls in that rant - even more annoying are those tossers that act it out when they hear it [unfortunately not with the actual physical injury]. Richard Cheese should be mandatory listening. It's not on this album but "Hell" for me was a good Disturbed track that never got the recognition that it deserved.

JJ_Maniac I always liked Disturbed, and I love their adaptation of Land Of Confusion, but I never bought an album, because my eye was immediately drawn to the brand-spanking-new Atreyu CD's

Lombaszko Oh yeah, high school for me too. Saw them at a music festival, very good band to see live. I agree that the mom rant in Down With the Sickness kind of brings the song down. The first track, Voices, rocks pretty hard though.
Around the time this album was released we were getting good stuff from bands like Godsmack, Staind, and Sevendust. Then it just became an over saturation of that kind of rock music and it all stared to sound the same and, like you say, got less heavy.
But The Sickness is still a good album to throw on when the mood strikes!

Ooooo Waaa Aaa Aaaa Aaaa!
