AChimp I've seen a fair number of the banned cartoons, as well as having seen all the recently banned cartoons years ago when I was little.

I laugh my ass off at all of them.

All I would ask is that you provide a DVD or two to burn them on since they take up a lot of CDs. I'll figure out how many it will take and get back to you in a PM.

VinceZeb God, could you all be any more self important?

"I'm keeping these cartoons so this part of history will never be forgotten."

God, man, don't wear your arm out patting yourself on the back.

kellychaos Have you ever looked into the political cartoons of Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel, 1904-1991). Some of them were, while not risque for their time, would probably not even manage to exist in today's PC world. It's not like it ended when he began writing children's books either. Many, if not all, are severely, politically pointed:

pjalne I just did a term paper on those cartoons. They're pretty fucking out there.

FS Eh, it was Bugs from another time when stuff like that was more acceptable... I guess.

Much thanks for the offer, but I'd probably watch them once and then be done with them. I do have Kazaa Lite, so I'll have a looksee.

Zero Signal If you delineate people by the color of their skin or by their regional origin, then you are racist. Wow, that includes pretty much everyone on the planet. Imagine that. Prejudice based on race, however, is an entirely different thing and is reprehensible at best. people want others to stop treating them differently, yet wish to retain what makes them different from others. "Stop treating us differently; stop treating us the same" is the mantra of many groups out there. They will never get anywhere on those ideas.

what? you mean Bugs isn't real???????????

I only meant that it was saddening to hear Bugs throw out racist slurs, and then as though that wasn't enough I watched him actually start killing people...
He has been my hero since I was 3 and why? For always being the smartest and coolest....

Racism =

Hearing Bugs talk racist and start murdering=

apart from that....oooh, I think I can can get over it..... :/

They didn't make me sick, but I don't laud them either. They didn't change my opinion of Bugs Bunny either. You make it out like Bugs is a real being that conciously did what he did in those cartoons. I look past that because it is the mature thing to do. By your logic, I shouldn't buy anything Mitsubishi because they built the Japanese Zero fighters, or Ford because someone in the past made the misguided decision to support the Nazis. Try growing up.

Zosimus If you can make space on your drive for Kazaa (if you don't have it already) I can recommend downloading Kazaa-lite. The "lite" version is exactly the same as Kazaa, the only difference being: it doesn't have all the ads and banners interrupting you all the time.

FS No, I'm serious. A few years ago I saw a small article in a newspaper about old Bugs Bunny cartoons that WB had tried to make disappear or something, in which Bugs made some racist jokes, among others about eskimos. I thought it'd be hilarious to see those. Or a little shocking. Or both.

I'll do a search on them, but the only computer with net access I have has a very small hard drive. If they're big files, I'll probably have no luck getting them without my PC bursting its seams.

Zosimus Pjalne, if you download Kazaa and put "Bugs Bunny" in the search engine, you will probably find some invaluable stuff.

Please note that I used to be the biggest Bugs Bunny fan in the world untill, I saw these banned cartoons!

I've known (for a while now) that most of the cartoons made in those days were made and used as propaganda but, not that they were as violent, nor as racist as the ones I saw.
Can you imagine Bugs kill Japanese soldiers, or call them insulting names?
What I saw there, turned me off of my favorite cartoon figure..... It was a VERY sad sad day in the life of zosi.
