Stephen King books are great because all the special effects happen in your head. The movies, not so much.
Except Tim Curry, who has my eternal respect and pants-shitting fear. |
What about the Shining?
|
Well, the Jack Nicholson version had the acting talent and the suspense, with much of the creepiness, and in my opinion Stanley Kubrick did the best/creepiest job with what he had. But I understand that Stephen King was irritated that the topiary animals didn't come to life, and wasn't happy until the remake. Which I didn't like.

Wait, he "fixed" the Shining?

Yeah, there was a remake.
