Your weirdest dreams?

I don't know about you guys, but I have goofy-ass dreams pretty much constantly.

Last night I dreamed I was watching a TV show called "No Shit, They're Polar Bears". It was hosted by this really perky, annoying lady who was always sticking her face right up to the camera, trying to be cute. (Very much like Kirsten Gum of "Cash & Treasures", actually.) The show was five or six segments long.

In the first segment, they showed two polar bears swimming around in a tank of icy water. The host prattled on about that for a while, then she said, "Now I'm gonna try it!" So she gets into a wetsuit and jumps in and starts freaking out about how cold it is. She jumps back out and squeals, "It's furrrrrrrrEEEEEZING in there! I mean, there are CHUNKS of ICE in the WATER! But look at them, they can swim around in there with no problem at all!"

Then the screen froze, a giant blue stamp-graphic of the show's title was plastered over the picture of the polar bears in the pool, and a chorus of studio-voices shouted, "NO SHIT, THEY'RE POLAR BEARS!"

I can only remember one other segment...there was this dead seal all flayed out on the ground, and it showed the two polar bears ripping off pieces. Then the host got in there and hoisted a chunk of raw seal meat to her mouth. "Yuck! It's all bloody! But this is what they eat every day! Day in and day out, they eat raw, bloody things like this, can you belieeeeve it?"

Cut to the stamp-graphic with accompanying *clunk* superimposed over seal guts. "NO SHIT, THEY'RE POLAR BEARS!"

It was the dumbest and funniest dream I've ever had. I actually woke myself up laughing in my sleep.

My most depressing dreams are the ones I occasionally have about the I-mockery forums

you need to cut down on them motherfuckin' bentos unless you want to make sitcoms or comedy sketches from your dreams then eat more of them motherufkin' bentos to get the creative juice flowing

jeffhimself Mar 26th, 2008 03:21 PM

ever dream you vomited up a kitten... i did and i think it was because i drove over a real cat

Fat_Hippo Mar 26th, 2008 04:18 PM

I rarely have vivid dreams, but there's a couple of weird ones I've had.

I had one about a camp filled with italien mothers and their children. There seemed to be some sort of competition about who gets the most children, but nobody knew who their kids were, so they just grabbed all they could get. But if one mother claimed a kid was hers, and another did too, there was only one way to solve it: Knife fight to the death.

Don't ask.

And I've had several dreams about trying to cross a street, falling over, not being able to get up or even crawl, upon which a truck drives me over. Or I try to jump a really small stream of lava, and fall in. Those suck.

Or when I was small I dreamt I was on top of a tower, and my dad picked me up and help me up so I could see better. But then he held me over the edge and let's go! I fell into a deep darkness, and then wake up on the floor with a backache. That one also sucks.

And when I'm sick I always have dreams about death. For example, I'm a soldier sleeping in a camp in my tent, but through a crack I constantly see people stabbing each other in their sleep, and I'm just terrfified. And this goes on for ages. Shit.

I probably remember know some more, but I can't remember them right now.

My worst dream ever was once when I dreamed I had to go take a piss, and I was standing over the toilet for like ten minutes and it just wouldn't stop coming, and then I felt something weird and I looked down and a weird, red veiny looking thing was coming out of the hole.

In a similar thread on SomethingAwful someone had a very similar dream so it must not be too uncommon :\

Sam Mar 26th, 2008 05:14 PM

Out of your urethra or the hole in the toilet?

Kitsa Mar 26th, 2008 05:16 PM

I remember when I was little, I had a dream where I was walking by some indoor pool (like a YMCA-style, institutional pool) and there were elephants swimming and playing in the water. Then suddenly I was walking on this sidewalk that just extended into empty space...nothing above, below or around it...and there were these giant butterflies darting around. Then one dive-bombed me and its head was like an evil sea-lion with needle teeth, and all of the butterflies suddenly started attacking me.

The majority of dreams I have are repeat dreams about being in a shopping mall and finding a passageway that leads to this fantastic, deserted, bigger mall. In the dreams I'd have fun running around an abandoned mall (unlike Dawn of the Dead, there didn't seem to be any zombies to work around). I actually looked forward to dreaming about it, because they were very predictable. Haven't dreamed those in a while though.

When I was a REALLY little kid, I would have nightmares that consisted entirely of music. Like, the Twilight Zone theme, or the theme from that show "Tales from the Darkside" (talk about bad 80s tv) would just play over and over in my head and I'd wake up in a cold sweat. Or that song, "Funny Farm"...you know, "they're coming to take me away, ha-ha"?...that scared the crap out of me for some reason.

I was a strange kid, I guess.

Urethra. Should've been clearer. :(

executioneer Mar 26th, 2008 05:26 PM

"they're coming to take me away, ha-haaa" actually is the title of that song

Chojin Mar 26th, 2008 05:28 PM

i'd had a dream a few times where I bite down and my teeth crack apart :<

and i swallow some of the bits by accident :<

Sam Mar 26th, 2008 05:30 PM

A couple of nights ago I had a dream that I was locked out of my house without my keys. So I started screaming at myself that I was already in the house and ripping off my fingernails and trying to jam them into the keyhole of the door while my hands bled all over. :(

And I've had the dream about my teeth falling apart in my mouth at least 5 times.

executioneer Mar 26th, 2008 05:33 PM

when i was five i had a dream where i was on a muppet show themed gameshow where you pull a big slot machine lever, and if you got all animal's face he would pop up and eat you, and in the end of the dream i lost the game :( plus when i woke up the furnace had just turned on and it made the same roaring noise as animal had been making when he was about to eat me

Kitsa Mar 26th, 2008 06:15 PM

For about three weeks straight, every single night, I had a dream in which Joey Ramone was telling me I had to wear a certain necklace. He never explained why, he just kept telling me to, and reminding me where I kept it. It got so damn weird that I actually got up and found the necklace and put it on, even though I felt like an idiot for doing so.

Strange thing is, ever since I did that, he stopped.

I have one that was pretty weird, but it pales in comparison to my brother's dream he told me about. Mine mostly involves me watching TV and it is this movie where this 8 foot tall guy in a trench coat and a bowler hat is killing people. Then, all of the sudden I am in the movie, only it is set in my town. I am running looking for a place to hide and I see this bakery. The owner of the bakery agrees to hide me from the killer provided I work at his bakery. I agree and as I am working I look up on the wall to see an employee of the month plaque with the 8 foot tall trench coat bowler hat guy. I am about to call the bakery owner out on it when all of the sudden I am watching TV again, and Eva Gabor is introducing another scary feature. Then I woke up and said out loud, "What the hell was that?"

My brother's dream started with him reading the Columbus Dispatch, he was looking at the section where they have all the strip club ads. He sees an ad that says, "Sexy Wendy will come to your house and do a sexy show." So he picks up the phone, dials the number, and seconds later hears a knock on the door and a sexy woman in a red bikini is there and she has a large trunk with her.

She asks my brother, "Are you ready for a sexy show?"

He answers, "I sure am".

"Okay" she replies, "Take off all your clothes."

So he takes all his clothes off, and she opens up the large trunk, ducks behind it, and from behind it pop up two puppets doing a puppet show. Just as he is about to ask "what the fuck" the dream shifts and he is suddenly standing naked on the set of Kukla, Fran, and Ollie.

My brother told everyone about that dream because he was so amused by it.

Esuohlim Mar 26th, 2008 10:20 PM

I once dreamt that I knew I was dreaming, yet I couldn't leave the dream. And every time I thought I was no longer dreaming something frighteningly fucked up would happen, one involving me getting out of my bed and finding my house demolished around me. And all the while voices kept mocking me for not being able to wake up. The cycle just kept happening over and over again, and I'm confident in saying that it'll probably be the worst dream I'll ever have in my life since on top of that it literally felt like I was dreaming for hours. :(

Is there a book or a movie out anywhere about a dream that lasts an eternity? It seems plausible, in my opinion, since your brain seems to be able to fabricate a timeframe that's completely relative to real time. It's a scary thought :eek

ElPila666 Mar 26th, 2008 10:26 PM

Today i had a weird dream where i was wearing a red ninja suit in a disco and people laugh at me but my friends say me "you look cool dude keep your mask on" an that disco look so strange, we sit on a table and we started to took some drinks. The dream was long but i only remember about the red ninja suit detail.

Hey Sigmund Freud used to interpreted dreams, i never read one of his books but it looks interesting, i never remembered to write every single weird dream that i had, maybe i'll started to do it.

Nope, but for several years during my youth I would have the same dream where I would fall out of a roller coaster that was higher than the clouds. I must of had that dream several dozen times.

Dr. Octogonopus Mar 26th, 2008 10:34 PM

I constantly have dreams about zombie apocalypses, more like this webcomic, http://www.thezombiehunters.com/index.php?strip_id=1,
where there are different classes of zombies, and I wake up and swear I hear shambling. On a lighter note, in class I had some dream my friend was pointing stuff out to me in a magazine, and when I woke up I didn't realize I was dreaming, so the first thing I said was 'Where's Julia?" and everyone thought I was losing it. It was pretty awkward.

Daisy Duke?

Kitsa Mar 27th, 2008 09:23 AM

I've never, ever had a falling dream, that I know of. Never had a flying dream either. Maybe it's a physical thing because I'm limited? Dunno. All of the books say they're the most common types, and I've never had one.

terrva Mar 27th, 2008 12:09 PM

Well, i once saw a dream in which i had sex with a huge pterodactyl.

Fat_Hippo Mar 27th, 2008 02:33 PM

I've had the dream several times that I'm in class, but in bed, half-asleep. My teacher's yelling at me to get up, but I ignore her. You might think it's akward but it's a favorite of mine, as it allows me to enjoy lying in bed while sleeping. Pretty sweet, eh?

darkvare Mar 27th, 2008 02:58 PM

i had one a couple of days ago
i was taking a bath then when i come out a friend has a car in the living room and he says something like nice car hu?, then a howling sound can be heard, we then get in the car and drive trough the door shooting machine guns that were mounted in the car until we sucumb to our inevitable death :(

Kitsa Mar 27th, 2008 03:15 PM

Have you ever had a dream that mirrors reality in that you're asleep and need to urinate, and you dream that you get up and go to the bathroom but in reality are still in bed?

My god those suck. (and no, I've never wet the bed, but I scared myself a couple of times)

BurntToShreds Mar 27th, 2008 07:42 PM

On nights when I stay up later than usual(About 5 AM, always over the weekends), I have vivid dreams. They're in a group of different environments, but once, I thought "What if they're all really close and connected?". I started to think out a map in my mind, and it's sort of like this:

The main area is downtown. It always changes, except for a few key features:It's always next to a river. Or an ocean, it varies between dreams. It has a huge mall with an arcade about the size of a department store. The mall has 4 floors(varies, but 4 is the most I've seen) and a hotel/casino. Sometimes, it's connected to a museum. Downtown also has a group of buildings that look like a university. These buildings are next to the river.

Most of the time, I start out in the suburbs, driving through maze-like back streets. Shopping centers and gas stations are everywhere. The suburbs and downtown are divided by a railroad track, although I've never seen any trains go by.

Other times, I go towards the edge of the city(West), where the industrial park is. No foliage at all near it. Many abandoned silos and/or chimneys. On the west side of the industrial park is a vast desert, with an obligatory government base somewhere out in the middle of it.

To the North of the park is a dense forest, combined with both a swamp and another river. Occasionally, I find a castle or a shack deep in there, and both are obviously haunted. That's about it.

So one day I fell asleep listening to Dragonforce (I really don't care if they suck or not, so please don't tell me) and I proceeded to have the 2nd weirdest dream of my life. (The 1st weirdest will come later). My Dragonforce dream was an animated Dragonforce music video, where me and all of my friends had weird-ass superpowers, and we fought George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and my friend Thomas. I was working as a file clerk at the time, so my super-power was the ability to summon paper out of the air, and give people really bad paper cuts. My friend michael, who has like 3 potato cannons, sprouted said cannons out of his arms. And my girlfriend commanded an army of zombie squirrels.

The weirdest dream I ever had, I had when I was 7 years old. In the dream, I woke up in my house at sometime around noon (it was really bright outside) so I got up to look for my parents, but no one was there. My sister was gone too. And there was absolutely no sound. I couldn't even yell. And even though it was really bright outside, the shadows in my house were all really long, and sometimes I would see one move out of the corner of my eye. So I decided to leave the house to look around my neighborhood. I went to my neighbor's house, and their door was unlocked, so I went inside. Their house was filled with the same weird shadows, but for whatever reason, I went into their basement. There's a door in their basement that leads to a little workshop, but when I opened it, the inside was pitch black, even though I knew the room had windows. Then I turned around, and the shadows of everyone in my neighborhood were standing upright right behind me, and I could tell they wanted to kill me. Somehow I made it out of the house, and as I was running up the street to my house, I noticed that everything was in black and white. Then I began to sink into the pavement. I looked behind me, and the shadows of my neighbors were lurking everywhere there would normally be a shadow. Except now, they were shaped like wolves. In unison, they all charged at me, and then I woke up, sweating.

Thinking about that dream still scares me to this day.

I wish I was kidding. I have the most mundane dreams these days. >:

Zomboid Mar 29th, 2008 05:08 AM

Milhouse, the fact that you dream about people on this forum is not all that weird. The fact that you dream about chojin and schimid playing video games and eating chips has me concerned though. I WILL GIVE YOU THE NUMBER OF A GOOD THERAPIST IF YOU LIKE!

My dreams range from downright horrifying to the point where I can't tell anyone what it was, to so fucking bizarre that I'll spend like half an hour trying to figure out what the fuck that was about.

Fat_Hippo Mar 29th, 2008 01:17 PM

I had another weird dream last night, and this is it, as far as I can decipher it, 'cause it was very confusing for the most part.

Okay, I'm in a hotel and there's a guy, who looks very similar to John Goodman looking for his shoe. He's panicky in the extreme, and I see his shoe lying on the floor, so I give it to him. He puts it on and rushes off without another word.
I find this very suspicious and follow him to a room in the hotel. The door is unlocked and I open it, to find the guy who was looking for his shoe beating a naked man tied to a chair with a bar of chocolate. Another guy, who I don't know but see regularly on the bus to school, bursts through a hallway and tells me to kick his ass, but the John Goodman-lookalike runs away before I get a chance.
I chase him, catch him, kick his ass, steal his clothes and look him into a small cabinet.

There was some more to it, I think, but it was really a very jumbled mess.

Zomboid Mar 29th, 2008 04:46 PM

Last night I was dreaming that I was a PREGNANT MAN and I had this weird little device that could go on the internet, play games, and tell me my "completion rate" for my pregnancy. Turns out with was a chestburster from the alien movies and I was just fine afterwards. Very, very odd.

Dr. Octogonopus Mar 29th, 2008 07:29 PM

I had a very weird ream last night, and I dunno if I should worry about this, but I had a dream I was in a cave or something, and it was pitch black, the floor was cold and I couldn't get up. I woke up under my bed. This has to be a joke by my sister; I'm a very heavy sleeper, so it wouldn't be hard to move me without waking me. I've slept through a thunderstorm, even when lightning struck our transformer.

Fathom Zero Mar 29th, 2008 11:05 PM

I had a nightmare that was exactly like an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? Probably because I watched Are You Afraid of the Dark.

Fat_Hippo Mar 30th, 2008 04:26 AM

Dr. O: Yeah, my brother has played with me when I was sleeping too. This is what happened, according to him anyway:
I was sleeping in my bed, and my brother came into my room. He was bored, so he took a pillow and put it on my face. I kind of batted it off in my sleep, but he put it back on. This process was repeated a couple of times, until I, still in my sleep, punched him right in the face and then batted the pillow off. I kept sleeping, but my brother told me about it later, and we both thought it was funny, so good for us.
Guess I didn't hit him hard enough.:\

ElPila666 Mar 30th, 2008 05:17 AM

I was dreaming that i was in a ballet class outdoors, and people cheer me up and clap their hands, then suddenly a friend of mine that i don't know where he came from or where we were at that time, he invited me to his apartment, then he started to rolling a joint that was at the size of a middle finger, the thing is that the joint felt idown nto the floor, i suddenly woke up and i wanted to smoke it and i almost search under the bed, then i realize that was a dream :(

Fat_Hippo Mar 30th, 2008 06:26 AM

Hahahaah my friend kept poking me one time while I was asleep, and apparently I punched him, so when I woke up his face was all swollen and his mom was still getting onto him since he egged me on. That's really weird how people can do that without waking up.

I had one last night, where I was at school, but the halls kept changing, so I couldn't find my way to classes, and I eventually got stuck in the girl's locker room, and I was freaking out and the girls came in and were all WTF PERV and I got thrown into the air conditioning unit. It made no sense. I woke up think 'What the hell."

Kitsa Apr 1st, 2008 08:03 AM

I had one hell of a nightmare last night. I was a little girl (not myself), and was standing outside when this other little girl came up behind me. She had just moved from China, I think, and she was wearing old-fashioned clothes and carrying pieces of toy train track. She said, "Do you want to play with my trains?" and when I turned around her face morphed from this normal kid-face into some terrifying lumpy stretched-out expression (not too different from the "black hole sun" video). I screamed and ran away, but she kept following me.

I ran home (in the dream I lived in a mobile home with a deck built all around) and hid inside. There were three doors...one on each end and one in the middle, and every time I looked out, there she was, standing in the doorway with that horrible smile. I'd scream and lock each one and she'd immediately be at another one. Then I peeped out a window and saw she'd laid down toy train track all around the house. Just as I was looking to see how far the train track went, she appeared in front of the window. "Do you want to play with my trains?" and then her face slowly stretched out again. Just as I was screaming and slamming the window shut, I woke up with my heart pounding.

I figured it was because I had read the spoiler for Shutter, watched a tv show where people were playing with toy trains, and right before I fell asleep I was watching Kill Bill v2 with the scene in the trailer.

Then when I fell back to sleep, I had a dream that I was in a parking lot that was completely coated in ice, cars included. People were falling left and right but it was like a party atmosphere. I was getting around by kneeling and pushing myself along with a stick. I passed one car and looked in the backseat, and Mitch Hedberg was in there doing drugs. He gave me the finger. I said "Okay, Mitch" and kept on going.

I have no idea why I would have dreamed that.

Sethomas Apr 1st, 2008 08:56 AM

It varies on where my mind's at in waking life, but in general I rarely remember my dreams. A lot of people like that claim that they simply do not dream, but that's very rare and I have no reason to think that I lack a normal amount of REM. In fact, I deduced a while ago that I get more REM than normal based on remembering the act of dreaming, if not the dreams themselves, after very short intervals of sleep although it's typical for the brain to need 50 or more minutes to get into the dream state.

My biggest hangup with sleep is that since it's in my nature to think about stupid abstract shit all the time, I put myself to sleep with that act. However, as my brain slows down I start to draw weirder and dumber conclusions that tend to connect totally random things in weird relationships that make no sense. Frequently I'll come to such a stupid assertion that it'll click as such, and I'll go from practically unconscious to wide-awake in sudden anger at myself for having thought something so remarkably stupid.

In recent years, I've had the tendency of the ever-elusive lucid dreaming. When I was 10 I first read about it because it was a huge fad in the metaphysics scene at the time and everyone talked about how awesome and invigorating it was, so I trained myself somehow to do it. Since I rarely remembered dreams at all until I was 18, I had no way of knowing how consistent I was at this, but I'm pretty sure it did happen regularly. However, at 18 I was put on several different psychotropic medication combinations that caused me to have extremely vivid dreams. Often they were flagrantly counterfactual in one or many ways, but nevertheless extremely detailed. To show this off, I would look at extremely minute details in things and frequently read items with distinct fonts or handwriting*. In my dreams I could speak foreign or dead languages far better than when I was awake, and I'd wake up analyzing the grammar and vocabulary of my dreams to find it more precise than I'm normally able to produce. I've been told from numerous sources that dreaming in a foreign language is your brain's way of letting you know that you've acquired fluency, but I certainly don't think I have in any of them.

Within a few nights of my new wave of dreaming, I started having distinctly lucid dreams. Against the hype and such, those were incredibly miserable because my dreams would be more cheerful than real life and it was this realization that brought me to know I was dreaming at the time, so I felt depressed for wasting my emotions on a fabricated sense of reality. I'd quickly and intentionally wake up after that anyways.

Lately, even though I forget the details within an hour of being awake, I tend to dream that I'm a character in some elaborate fiction with a total detachment from my normal identity although they often incorporate details from my past.

Only in the past year have I regularly had sexual dreams, but these are always plot-focused and haven't been wet to my knowledge because I've never reached climax before realizing I was dreaming and waking up. Believe me, that TOTALLY SUCKS. My only sexual dream before this was similar in that regard, but uniquely prophetic in that it involved sex with a total stranger who, in fact, looked precisely like a total stranger I bedded a few months later.

Normally my dreams as of late are just plain stupid. The worst/weirdest dreams I've had revolve around my having a fever, which I guess is normal. What's bad about them, and I mean HORRIBLE, is that they usually involve me having to complete some task requiring impossible feats of mental calculation and memory. Like, one time I was an attendant at a turnstile and for some reason was required to memorize in rapid succession the name of the person walking through, a sequence of codes that somehow corresponded to a part of their genetic sequence, and their age. Within a few minutes I had to shout out a horrifically long code of all the people who had walked through to that point and divide some numbers arbitrarily thrown in for some reason. My brain was seriously overclocking and the heat it exerted was enough to wake me up.

*The discussion has come up at least twice here on whether or not it's possible to read in dreams. I think an episode of the old animated Batman from the mid-90s said it was impossible because of the brain's structure, but I certainly remember reading several times in dreams and I think others here have said they have as well. Sometimes I wake up distinctly remembering semiotic details, but other times I get the impression that I'd just be looking at printed material that was actually just visual gibberish and being implanted its meaning.

Dr. Octogonopus Apr 1st, 2008 08:58 AM

Ever had a dream where you wake up, then you wake up, and then you really wake up, but then you wake up again and it keeps going until you wake up for real and start hitting yourself to ensure you're not caught in some infinite piece of shit dream? That keeps happening to me.

Angryhydralisk Apr 1st, 2008 11:16 AM

The most painful and bizarre dream I had was getting chased by a rabid dog and waking up with my arms numb. I also had a dream I was eaten alive by a spider and woke up numb.

But other than those two, yeah my dreams have been like sitcoms of mediocrity (One where I was in a dream within a dream like South Park.) up until I quit McDonalds.

T-Rex Apr 3rd, 2008 06:43 AM

I once had a dream that I was an iPod shuffle. Everytime somebody touched me I'd be all "Here we go AGAIN!" and I would dance to this funky calypso music.

My best dream ever? I was in my backyard fighting an Apache helicopter! I was such a bad-ass, in the dream, I had duct-taped two handguns together. Awesome! That way, you can fire two handguns at the same time with only one hand. I don't know how the dream ended. If the pilot is reading this and is down to call it a draw, I'm cool with that.

Kitsa Apr 3rd, 2008 09:58 AM

I had a couple more goofy ones last night (pregnancy is great for making you crank out the weirdass dreams). Some I don't remember, but there was one...

I was in a German seaside resort. I know, I know. But somehow it was Germany and yet on a Caribbean-style beachfront. I was in a hotel room and mad because my boyfriend didn't want to go down to the beach, which was strangely beautiful and not at all crowded. Instead, I sat by the window and watched various strange things go by. There was a German Shepherd that was walking along with other animals riding on its back like it was a horse...smaller dogs, cats, and a monkey, I think. Then there was some sort of black dog that had a crappy canvas weather balloon strapped to it and it was just sort of floating along in the sky. Then I just sort of wandered the room and read the rules on the back of the door and listened to the maids out in the hallway.

Emu Apr 3rd, 2008 11:01 AM

I once had a dream that took place at my grandmother's old house. It has a large window in the living room that faces west so that when the sun sets the entire room gets flooded with light. In the dream, the sun had just fallen over the trees, and the sky was a pretty cascade of blue and purple and orange. As I was watching it set, suddenly, everything started to feel cold. I watched in horror as the sun continued to rise again, only instead of the sun, it was the disembodied head of a giant Cherokee chief in full headdress. He kept getting bigger and closer until finally he devoured me. :(

my weirdest dream was when my dick and balls turned green, fell off, and i picked another one off the wall

BurntToShreds Apr 3rd, 2008 05:40 PM

One time, I had a nightmare that revolved around me and my friends trying to solve a mystery, Scooby-Doo style. The mystery was about an undead horseman, who was just a skeleton in armor(the horse was normal, not undead). When we finally caught and unmasked the guy, someone said the cliche "Then who's that?", and my view shifted to the rightT he real horseman, who looked way more badass, cackled as his horse reared up and lightning struck. I nearly shat bricks upon waking up.

10,000 Volt Ghost Apr 5th, 2008 04:00 PM

I had a dream about the Drowning Pool song "bodies" when I was younger. It was really annoying because the chorus never ended. I think it was around "56, nothing wrong with me. 57, nothing wrong with me. 58, nothing wrong with me." before I got sick of it and woke up.

Dommin Apr 7th, 2008 05:19 PM

When I was around seven or so, I had this odd-ass dream. I dreamt that I woke up, and my bed was in the middle of this enormous black room. All that there was in the room was myself, a bed, a door, and a lightswitch. There's this loudass humming noise, so I think, "Hey, if I flick off the lightswitch, the noise'll stop."

So I do it. And then this monster that's like half swamp-thing, half 10,000 volt ghost busts out of the door, screams at me, and chases me around my bed until I woke up.

Which was like 7 hours later.

Other than that, though, most of my remembered dreams are zombie survival type things.

That sounds terrifying, Triffids used to frighten me a lot when I was young. I don't think I could deal with 7 hours of that. Probrably wake up dead.

seven hour dreams, thats unpossible

The Leader Apr 7th, 2008 07:53 PM

I had a dream where I was watching this documentary/news report on TV and all it was, was a diver filming with an underwater camera in a murky river. Thousands of bodies in varying states of decomposition were floating by along with a lot of debris while several damaged World War Two-esque armored vehicles and tanks were pushed by the current along the river bed. I think that there was a greenish tint to the footage but I'm not sure. I have no idea what the heck was going on but damn, it would be a great shot in a movie.

Dr. Octogonopus Apr 7th, 2008 08:04 PM

Damn, that does sound like it'd be a good shot in maybe some alternate-history WWII movie. Maybe something along the lines of In the Balance and it's sequels by Harry Turtledove. Great books, except all the sex scenes. Just way too many. :P That and Turtledove has to be the most ridiculously fun to say last names.

Fat_Hippo Apr 8th, 2008 04:11 AM

I had the most dull dream ever last night. I dreamt that I was in Art Class, painting. That's pretty much it. Normal class colleagues, normal teacher, normal paintings...I don't remember anything precise, but nothing special happened. I just sat there, talked with my classmates and painted. Meh.

MarioRPG Apr 8th, 2008 03:13 PM

I had a dream last night where I travelled back in time and saved a bus-load of Jews from the holocaust. Then returned back to the future (present?) and was questioned about the ramifications.

Zomboid Apr 8th, 2008 03:52 PM

I just had a dream that I missed my sociology class, so for some reason a friend and I went to my old high school where I got caught by skipping that same sociology class. My sociology teacher told me not to leave any of the school's windows open. When I asked why, she told me that there's a chance an animal like a cat or something could get in and mess the place up. I then walked out of the room and into the gym. There was a bunch of people playing floor hockey and out of nowhere, a cat came running out into the game and got hurt. A bunch of people were freaking out cause it was bleeding from its head. I was then grabbed by the arm and brought to a room where I had a band-aid sewn onto my finger because I won "student of the year." I asked if I got a prize. The nurse lady said no, but then I walked into a campus bar (at my old high school) and asked if I could get free drinks all night because of winning the award. They said yes so I started drinking and eventually my friend and I managed to piss a bunch of people off and we started getting attacked.

The end.

I have very bizarre dreams. I did end up sleeping through my sociology class though.

Pandajuice Apr 8th, 2008 06:04 PM

Wow, lots of bizarre dreams going on in this thread.

Most of my dreams (at least the ones I can remember) are pretty realistic and never too bizarre. The weirdest one that I can remember from my adolescence happened the night after I spent the day reading a large compendium of all the different animal species on Earth.
The book caused me to dream that I was in my house minding my own business when suddenly I notice something running around the backyard. I take a look out the window and see a little animal, probably the size of a small dog, running back and forth. But I soon notice that it's comprised of every single animal species on Earth, all mixed into one disturbing looking mish-mash of animal parts. As soon as I realized that, it attacked me, and I woke up.

That dream, for some reason, disturbed me for many weeks after.

10,000 Volt Ghost Apr 8th, 2008 08:43 PM

Anyone else get the lottery dream? Where eventully you realize it's a dream but just kind of hang around anyway. Usually people wake me up right when I'm about to get something nice.

Sethomas Apr 9th, 2008 03:14 AM

My weirdest dream? How about a man that can use the washer AND the dryer!

Ladies, you know what I mean!

Even 6th graders know this.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a dream about going to an abandoned theme park (not a carnival) and visiting the water park portion of it. Nobody was working there, but, to my amazement there were still people riding the water slides. All the stairs leading up to the slides were torn down, so you had to climb up on top of the roofs of concession stands to reach them. The water still worked due to dream-logic, and it was one hell of a ride. After a few more slides, I went into a large building. From the looks of it, it was once a restaurant/stage, where you would watch a show. Back in one corner was an arcade, which still worked. The rest of the dream was just me playing racing games.

Asila Apr 10th, 2008 11:58 AM

I keep having really vivid night-terror styled dreams, where my eyes will be open and I'll sit up in bed and see everything, but I'll still technically be asleep. I've gotten a plethora of creepy-ass dreams like that. Faceless people will be standing in my doorway, one of my daughter's stuffed animals came to life and started crawling around my room, giant spiders falling on me...

Madface Apr 10th, 2008 02:01 PM

The craziest dream I had was like the movie Heavy Metal. Not in style just in the fact that there were multiple stories n' shit. The first one I was being chased by a dragon ball z action figure (Goku of course) and it kept wipping me with one of those jumpropes that has a bunch of plastic things covering the crappy string part so it hurt like hell. Then it changed to another dream where I got in a fight with a blue version of myself. For some reason the blue clone was able to extend their hands like Dhalsim from Street Fighter and started choking me so I bit the hand and woke up to find that I was biting my own hand. Then I went back to sleep and slept just fine.

Zombie Moshpit Apr 10th, 2008 08:28 PM

I never have really vivid dreams, so I usually just remember certain parts of them.

You know Bubbles, from PPG? Well, in this dream I had recently, there were a bunch of them that were extremely tall and skinny, and they were all being taken to some kind of concentration camp in this white train. I was trapped on the train with them, and I remember my dream ending with one of them passing around blue pills, telling all of the Bubbles to swallow them, and then saying something like "We're going to make through this alive." Then there was a pale blue title card that said "The End", and I woke up.

Also, I had a dream where I was in the future, but I was the same age, and everyone traveled through tubes (kind of like Futurama). Everyone in my school had to go to this old rich guy's mansion and do work for him, like cleaning, cooking, etc. I was late once, and some really weird butler started yelling at me. Then we had to put on a play of "Oliver Twist" for all of his rich friends, and I had to play Oliver.

I have no idea where they came from.

Has anyone ever dreamed in cartoons. I mean at all?

I recall having a dream that involved some cartoon character, but it the real world.

Were you Bob Hoskins?

Dr. Octogonopus Apr 10th, 2008 10:13 PM

Like in Cool World? Yeah, it happens. Except it was more like Dragonball Z; I would wake up in the middle of some lame fight scene and continue it from the stopping point over the next few dreams.

Sethomas Apr 11th, 2008 03:07 AM

Threads where people are asked to share their dreams are part of a malicious I-Mockery conspiracy to make people register to post, implanting them with the false hope that their fascinating experiences of things that never happened will reach an audience.

Fat_Hippo Apr 11th, 2008 04:21 AM

I'm sure you guys all know those sex dreams, where something happens just before the sex, so you never get to have any. This is one that sticks in my mind.
I'm in a bathroom stall with a woman. I know there was something in the dream leading up to this, but I can't remember what. Probably not important. Okay, I've pulled down my pants and I'm starting to put on a condom, when the woman suddenly jumps (yes, jumps) out of the bathroom stall and the stall door opens. The other guys all point and laugh at me. Bugger.

Dread Naught Apr 12th, 2008 04:25 AM

I guess the wierdest dream I had was where I stting on patio looking up at the night sky when I saw this bright light cross the sky. I knew what it was, I closed my eyes and prayed, " Oh God no!" When I opened them, I was sitting in these pews before the kingdom of God. A man came out and handed me these keys, it was then that I heard someone say, "Oh no!" I was returned to earth, I entered into this office using those keys, opened a file cabinet, then some guy walked in said, " you just couldn't use that knowledge for your own self could you?!"

Kitsa Apr 12th, 2008 08:23 AM

I had a horrible dream last week in which I was so out-of-my-mind depressed that I slit my wrists (down the road, not across the street) and I could actually feel the zings of pain...it was so vivid I woke up crying, a first for me since infancy, and I actually felt as if my arms hurt. I kept looking at them, expecting to see the same gashes I saw in the dream. It was pretty traumatic,

And then last night I dreamed I went to a yard sale run by this total bitch, every time I came upon something I was interested in, even if it was a ratty old children's book, she seemed to magically know and tell me that it was a thousand dollars or something. I finally rounded up some stuff I wanted that had all 20, 30-cent price tags on it and she told me my total was fifteen thousand dollars. I was so pissed that I left, and then my family plotted to blow up her car as revenge.

Dr. Octogonopus Apr 12th, 2008 10:45 PM

I keep having these freaky dreams, and they scare the shit out of me.
So I'm in Barnes and Nobles with my friend, and she's showing me some book, and this guy she used to have trouble with comes up behind her and starts raising a gun. She doesn't see him, so I shove her behind a bookshelf, and I get shot in the chest, stomach and arm, and I wake up sweaty, and I can barely breathe because my chest feels like it has been shot up. I don't plan on going to any bookstores, and she doesn't either, luckily. But they're really starting to scare me.

Tadao Apr 12th, 2008 10:48 PM

SOunds like you have a hero complex. Dreams are not windows to the future, they are just your brain organizing your feelings. (I think)

Dr. Octogonopus Apr 12th, 2008 11:01 PM

I HOPE it's just my subconscious douchebaggery,I don't wanna get wasted any time soon.

BurntToShreds Apr 13th, 2008 03:32 AM

I had a dream last night where I went to the arcade in the mall I mentioned in post #32. The arcade was mored detailed, and it felt like I spent more time in there than I usually do in those dreams. I played Guitar Freaks with an Xbox 360 controller. There was a raised section where a bunch of people were playing fighting games. It looked like a tournament. I didn't get to play though, because I think even my subconscious knows I would get my ass handed to me :lol. The rest is fuzzy, but I can remember walking around a department store which dealt in plasma screens.

Esuohlim Apr 14th, 2008 12:45 AM

Last night Willie was teaching my class and kept calling on me to answer questions.

He was all "As much as I appreciate the effort you're putting into avoiding answering these questions correctly class won't be dismissed until you get them right" :x

I would have rather played laser tag >:

I remember when I was much younger (Around 5 or 6),I dreamt that I was on a boat, and the Captain told me that there was a giant squid spotted nearby and that we may be attacked.

Just as he said that, the boat was pulled underwater and I said the squid.Right before the boat was swallowed whole by the squid, the squid let out the "Rosie O' Donnell laugh".

You see,my brother would always be watching Roseanne on TV while I was trying to get to bed every night, and during the intro she would always do a creepy as hell laugh.

The laugh would always scare me,no matter how hard I cupped my hands over my ears,I could still hear it.

Though,I'm not exactly sure about the squid.

Sethomas Apr 14th, 2008 03:03 PM

Well, I'm sure that watching Roseanne had a pretty similar effect on Jules Verne.

executioneer Apr 14th, 2008 03:58 PM

they are nto the same person, you know
