Mock war.

Right now I'd like to start this February 14th. For most of you who don't know because you will die EMPTY AND ALONE, that's Valentine's Day. I figure you'll all have some aggression to work out at or around that date.

Scheduling:
February 14-16: (Wed,Thurs,Fri) Qualifiers. Qualifiers will be handled just like last year, where everyone in the competition piles into a handful of threads and tries to be funnier than everyone else (it is handled this way because you all have experience doing this).
February 17-18th: (Sat, Sun) Voting will take place on the qualifiers, and the top 16 mockers will advance to round 1.
Rounds will be held in two blocks (A and B) per week, with 3 days of competition followed by 4 days of voting.
February 19-21: (Mon,Tues,Wed) Round 1, Block A mockers fight.
February 22-25: (Thurs,Fri,Sat,Sun) Round 1, Block A fights are voted on.
February 22-24: (Thurs,Fri,Sat) Round 1, Block B mockers fight.
February 25-28: (Sun,Mon,Tues,Wed) Round 1, Block B fights are voted on.
February 26-28: Round 2, Block A mockers fight.
March 1-4: Round 2, Block A fights are voted on.
March 1-3: Round 2, Block B mockers fight.
March 4-7: Round 2, Block B fights are voted on.
March 5-7: Round 3, Block A mockers fight.
March 8-11: Round 3, Block A fights are voted on.
March 8-10: Round 3, Block B mockers fight.
March 11-14: Round 3, Block B fights are voted on.
In the finals, the remaining two participants agree on a three-day span that works best for them, then the four days after are reserved for voting.

Winners and runner-ups will receive GIFTS of VALUE. Last year the winner got a trophy, pickle hat, wacky space goggles, and signed Pickleman #1 comic. This year will be better!

I'd do it, but three benefactors keep me from doing it....

1. MS Paint is no Photoshop.

2. Limited time around computers.

If I was going to mock someone with say, a simple caption below a goofy picture of them, MS Paint.

If I wanted to paste their head on something stupid and utterly degrade them in some elaborate sense, I'd at least have a faster response with Photoshop.

The point isn't to degrade the other person, retard. It's to make the reader laugh. If part of that humor comes from the sheer shittiness of the image you're using, then more power to you.

Yeah, that's why we have Block A and Block B. If you want to be on Block A, your dates around that time would be:

February 19-21: (Mon,Tues,Wed) Round 1, Block A mockers fight.

February 25-28: (Sun,Mon,Tues,Wed) Round 1, Block B fights are voted on.

So you'd miss your voting period, but you could always call that in.

My photoshopping skills don't go past pasting Ben Lee's head onto owls and SomethingAwful-esque MSpaint drawings of monsters spitting on things. :(
Also, I don't have a ton of time to actually compete. IE, think of the cunning insults exemplified in previous mock wars.

Heh, I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully we can get more participants though once we switch the forums over to the new system and I promote it all on the I-Mockery homepage. Might not be a bad idea to put the Mock Wars off a little longer to give people more time to sign up, but we'll see how it's going between now and mid February and then decide on that...
